Review- The Fine Line by Alicia Kobishop

Summary-

High school senior Liv Evans has one rule: No attachments. She’s lost enough in her life and has vowed to do whatever it takes to make sure she never again feels the emptiness of losing someone she loves. Boys are a fun distraction, but a serious relationship is something she’d rather live without. Her determination for a future free of pain and heartbreak is put to the test when she meets–and quickly forms an unexpected bond–with Logan Tanner.

Logan has always been a free spirit, but ever since a life-changing event took place, which left him doubting the integrity of those who are closest to him, he’s taken that term to a whole new dangerous level. Learning the hard way that life is too short for worries or work–and that women can’t be trusted–Logan has exchanged steady work for street racing. When Liv walks into his world, everything he thought he knew about life and women is challenged.

In The Fine Line, Liv and Logan will discover if it’s possible for true love to have a future, or if history is destined to repeat itself.

Review-

The Fine Line by Alicia Kobishop sounded like an interesting read. I love it, when the protagonist is completely against falling in love and ends up falling head over heels. It brings out the depth and growth which can be shown through the story. Sadly, I was disappointed by The Fine Line.

Firstly we have Liv. She is against falling in love. She believes in no attachments and thinks that if you don't get close to anybody you can't get hurt. All this was fine but I never warmed up to Liv. Maybe it was because she was so indecisive about her feelings. The way she sent mixed signals to Logan got me irritated and even by the end of the book I did not like her.

Then we have Logan. From the day he meets Liv he is intrigued by her. He wants to know more about her and spend more time with her even if she just wants to remain friends. Logan was nice but I would have liked to see more facets of his character. The reason behind his feelings for Liv or racing remained unclear. He gave up too easily and everything just happened.

Liv and Logan's relationship is full of ups and downs. I felt both of them acted stupid on a number of occasions. I am not a fan of cheating or anything even close to it so it made it even more difficult for me to accept and understand their relationship. There was a lack of communication between the two but I liked their friendship.

The Fine Line is a well written book. The author has an easy style of writing and things move at a good pace. I liked Liv and Logan's friends as they were always supportive of them. The problem I had was with Liv and Logan though which decreased my overall enjoyment of the book. The Fine Line was an okay read for me.

*Note: A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. We thank them.

  1. Wait, there's cheating?! Ugh that's a huge nono for me. I'll admit this sounds interesting but I probably won't be reading it any time soon. Thanks for the honest review :)

  2. The Fine Line is edgy, funny, sad, romantic, delightful and quick-paced. If you're looking for all that and more then this is the book for you.
