Top Ten Tuesday #17

Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's topic is:

top ten things on our reading wishlist

My list:

1) Unhappy endings, under which I am also clubbing 2) Betrayal 3) Guilt 4) Pain 5) Suffering-
Yes, you read all those right. I like books that end unhappily.

6) Death- Because absurd is real.

7) Psychology and history, which further includes 8) Reason - By this, I mean the whole thing about why people do certain things in a certain way. Surely there is some reason behind everything that happens. I want to know that reason.

9) A new, original and thoroughly absorbing fantasy world- Who doesn't love new worlds? I only wish they were more creative.

10) A completely incompatible pairing- How about a goblin falling in love with a werewolf?

What's on your wishlist? Link me up to your posts as I'd love to see it!
Happy Tuesday and happy reading, everyone!

  1. I would have to agree about having death on your list. Sometimes, I get bored of reading because I know that the characters will all survive. Authors should take more risks in killing off characters in order to surprise their readers.

  2. Have you read Born Wicked? It's an alternate history with good character motivation. You might like it. I don't think it's going to be an unhappy ending though.

  6. Great list. I like unhappy endings sometimes too, if it's authentic to the plot. When the book or series of books has been about trials, sufferings and wars, you want a realistic ending not a quick 'happily ever after' so I expect at least a few of the main characters to die! I thought Harry Potter and The Hunger Games ended well.

  7. Great list! I think unhappy ending are good sometimes too, some of my favourite books are the ones that didn't end how I wanted them too, they broke and destroyed me but I think that's why I love them so much! Great picks!
