AUTHOR INTERVIEW:

Hi Vikrant! Welcome to The Readdicts. We are glad to have you on our blog today and we hope you have a fun time answering our questions. Let’s get to it!

1)  Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a Captain in merchant navy, been sailing for the past decade. I love a great story be it in the form of a book, a movie, or theatre.

2)  Tell us about your book, Love Lasts Forever.

Love lasts forever is a story of youth, of falling in love, then falling out of love and taking your love for granted when you are blessed with it, and finally when put in a difficult spot in life realizing how much that love means to you. In this case the protagonist is stuck with the pirates of Somalia.

3)  Do you believe that love lasts forever? What’s the inspiration behind the book title?

Absolutely, love can lasts forever. The title basically reflects the theme of the book, and I believe it is also catchy.

4)  Are any of the characters in your book inspired by someone you know or are they complete results of your imagination?

My characters are all fictional, and a complete work of my imagination. I like to be very thorough with my characters and I think a lot about them before beginning to write.

5)  Tell us why readers should pick up your book.

Apart from being a love story it is also a thriller. The book highlights the true hardship sailors have to go through under the captivity of pirates. The story is different and unique but at its heart it’s a true love story.

6)  How important are book events and book launches for you?

If the idea is to make people aware of a book, they are good. They shouldn’t try too hard to push sales.

7)  Give us glimpse into any normal day of your life.

It’s a pretty normal routine like everyone else the highlight of the day being a regular two hour shift that I try spending everyday for writing.

8)  What are the three things you’d like to have with you on a deserted island?

I’d like to have a tub of cold beers, a mystery novel, and my phone with a net connection.

9)  If you were granted a wish by means of which you would be able to spend an entire day with a dead person, particularly a writer, who would you pick and why? What would you like to discuss with them?

Has to be Agatha Christie for writing extraordinary stories in the most ordinary way.

10)  What is next in store for you? Do you plan on writing more?

I’m writing a YA paranormal romance.

Thank you so much, Vikrant. It was great to have you here with us today and we wish you lots of love (that last forever), happiness and success in life.
