The Seven Deadly Sins Tag

Hi, guys! Janhvi and I have been tagged for The Seven Deadly Sins Tag post by our friend Tanja over at Ja citam, a ti?. Honestly, this sounds super interesting, so let's get on to it!

GREED

1. What's your most inexpensive book?

Janhvi: My most inexpensive books would definitely be a few I picked up at Landmark's 90% off sale this time. I got the books dirt cheap. Some of them were Pawn by Aimee Carter, Shadow's Claim by Kresley Cole and Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick.

Sarika: Well, I recently bought a paperback of the English translation of a really interesting Japanese play called Madame de Sade by Yukio Mishima that was on a straight 90% discount, so I got it for, nothing really.

WRATH

2. What author do you have love/ hate relationship with?

Janhvi: I actually think I have a love/ hate relationship with Gena Showalter. I adored her Lords of the Underworld series and her Intertwined series in the beginning but her latest installments have been very disappointing.

Sarika: This has to be the two most famous New Adult contemporary authors, Colleen Hoover and Jamie McGuire. While their previous books made me fall in love, their more recent releases have left me questioning my love. But as people, I really like the two. You see that? I hate to love them and I love to hate them.

GLUTTONY

3. What book have you devoured over and over again with no shame?

Janhvi: That would definitely be the Psy-changeling series by Nalini Singh. I'm pretty sure I know all the books by heart. I am a HUGE fan and I am obsessed with the world and its heroes. All I wanna know is where I can find myself a Hawke or a Max or a Luc or a Judd... ;)

Sarika: I don't devour books again and again. I first need to catch up with what I have. But like any loyal and true fan, I've read and almost know by heart now the Harry Potter series. The "with no shame" part of this question has me questioning it's purpose *winks*, but oh well, I'm not ashamed of anything I read.

SLOTH

4. Which book have you regretted reading due to laziness?

Janhvi: I actually can't think of a book here. If I don't finish a book within 3-4 days and that's pushing it, there's a good chance I'm not interested in the book. So I finish up my reads fast and I don't really regret reading any book.

Sarika: There are a handful and that's because I am, well, lazy. When you take a month to read a book (read City of Bones), it's bound to leave you feeling that you hadn't read it at all.

PRIDE

5. What book do you talk about in order to sound like an intellectual reader?

Janhvi: Hahaha to sound like an intellectual reader all I tell people when asked is that I read a little bit of everything. Mostly, my reading consists of romance but no one has to know that.

Sarika: I have to agree with Tanja here. Being a literature student, everyone expects me to have read the French classics of every French literary movement, but let me rip off the bandaid and break it down to you- I haven't. At the same time however, I love telling people that I read Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children (even though I didn't understand it) and my love Albert Camus' L'Etranger/ The Stranger (which I understand and admire)  to make myself sound like an intellectual reader.

LUST

6. What attributes do you find attractive in male or female characters?

Janhvi: I like strong alpha males who are protective of their women. I don't like it when males treat their women like crap and are forgiven in a moment for it. I like strong women who don't always need a knight in shining armor to come rescue them. But that is not to say that I don't appreciate all the feminine qualities which makes a woman so unique.

Sarika: Male- I like boys/ men who respect women as human beings first and not treat them like objects.
Female- Ability to stand up for themselves and not crib about wanting someone to "complete" them.

ENVY

7. What book would you most like to receive as a gift?

Janhvi: I have already told this to Sarika. I would love to receive anything by Nalini Singh or Jill Shalvis. They are my current favorite authors whom I love and admire and can't seem to get enough of.

Sarika: Off late, to show my love for the books, I want to own copies of Made of Stars and Suicide Watch by Kelley York and honestly? All of Albert Camus' books as well aside from the ones I already have. (P.S: Janhvi, I hope you read that clearly and well.)

  1. LOL You two!! This is amazing ladies. I totally forgot Colleen Hoover and Jamie McGuire, Sarika. They are on my love/hate list as well. So yeah I know how it is. And I admire you both for not being lazy. I should come there so you could teach me some discipline ;) Great post, lovelies :)

  3. Woo thanks for tagging me guys! My post will go up tomorrow. Such a fun tag and I loved reading your answers. I'm totally with Sarika on Harry Potter of course and feeling no shame for reading any of my books. And I really love Janhvi's response to sound like an intellectual reader - I read a little bit of everything - I'll have to use that line next time I'm asked! Love your responses to attractive qualities in male/female characters the most <3
