Review-

I hadn't read anything by Sophie Kinsella before Shopaholic to the Stars but I always wanted to. This is the seventh book in the popular Shopaholic series but I don't think there is any need to read all the previous books before getting to this one. Each book stands well as a stand alone. I liked Shopaholic to the Stars but I wasn't blown away by it.

Becky and her daughter Minnie are joining her husband Luke in L.A. This is a big change for Becky and she has stars in her eyes in the city of Hollywood. While in the beginning I found Becky to be sweet, though very much in her own head by the end I thought she was incredibly selfish. I've seen the movie version of the first book and she was more naive in that one.

In this book, Becky always thought of herself first, her fame first and didn't really bother with thinking about anyone else's problems. Though Becky's love for fashion came through it would have been better had she been more aware of her surroundings.

I really liked Luke though. He was the perfect husband, supporting Becky through and through. I also found Becky's friend Suze really nice. Minnie was cute. The whole family situation they had was very amusing. We also get to meet a cast of characters from L.A. There were many things going on at the same time which made everything complicated.

The book ends with a few important issues left unsolved, so we will definitely be seeing more of Becky. I really liked Sophie Kinsella's writing. I can see why so many people are such huge fans of her. While I will say I was not totally impressed with Shopaholic to the Stars I will definitely be giving some other books by this author a try.
