Review- The Prince and The Player by Tia Louise

Summary-

Let the games begin...

Runaway Zelda Wilder will do whatever it takes to secure a better life for her and her sister Ava. Crown Prince Rowan Westringham Tate will do whatever it takes to preserve his small country.

When Zee is blackmailed into helping a vengeful statesman take down Rowan, she never expects she'll be pulled into a web of lies and international intrigue--much less that she'll find herself falling for Cal, Rowan's "playboy" younger brother.

Ava's no help, as she finds quiet walks in the moonlight discussing poetry and leadership with the brooding future king irresistible. Even more irresistible is kissing his luscious lips.

They're in over their heads, and the more time passes, the more danger the sisters are in. Shots are fired, and it's soon clear even a prince might not be able to rescue these players.

Review-

What intrigued me first about The Prince and The Player by Tia Louise was the fact that we got to see two love stories in one book. Add to that, one pair of siblings are royalty and one pair are kinda con women trying to make it. This all made me even more curious to see how it would be. Overall I am glad that I decided to give this book a go because I enjoyed reading The Prince and the Player.

Let's start with the first pair of siblings. Zee is the older sister and hers is the point of view we get along with Rowan's throughout the book. She has been taking care of her younger sister Ava and they are trying to make it in this world. I really enjoyed Zee's point of view. She was funny in her own way. I liked how much she cared for Ava and how determined she was to do the right thing when she finds out the truth.

The next pair of siblings are the royals. Rowan is the crown prince. He had to grow up quickly after his father passed away and now he has a lot of responsibilities towards his kingdom. Rowan was a very suitable prince. He was willing to make sacrifices and he loved his brother very much. Cal is the younger brother. He is the player in the real sense. He is fun and charming and outgoing. Basically the complete opposite of Rowan but somehow these pairs of siblings work.

Now, the initial plan in the story was for Zee to seduce the crown prince. But obviously things never go as planned. I loved Zee and Cal as a couple. They had genuine chemistry and they couldn't help themselves. Rowan and Ava on the other hand were much sweeter. Rowan was completely smitten by Ava and she was the one selfish thing he wanted. I loved how both the stories progressed because we get to see how each couple is doing with Zee and Rowan's point of view.

Now, there is definitely action in the book. Rowan's position as the King is not secure and there are many who want to do them harm. The sisters don't have a clean slate as well and trouble always seems to find them. The ending is not a cliffhanger per se but things are defnitely left unfinished. I am glad I have the next book on hand to get right to it. The Prince and the Player was an enjoyable read.
