Review- Only You by Denise Grover Swank

Summary-

Never say never . . .

Romance isn't an option for Holly Greenwood. With her wedding planner career on the line she needs to stay focused, and that means pleasing her demanding boss, not getting distracted by her mind-alteringly hot neighbor . . .

Ex-Marine Kevin Vandemeer craves normalcy. Instead, he has a broken-down old house in need of a match and some gasoline, a meddling family, and the uncanny ability to attract the world's craziest women. At least that last one he can fix: he and his buddies have made a pact to swear off women, and this includes his sweetly sexy new neighbor.

After one hot night that looks a whole lot like a disaster in the light of day, Kevin and Holly are about to learn that true love doesn't play by the rules . . .

Review-

To be frank, Only You by Denise Grover Swank was a book I clicked on by mistake. I got it through Netgalley and I thought I'd give it a try now that I had it. I have not read any book previously by Denise Grover Swank so I thought if I found a great new to me author by accident it would make my day. Sadly that was not the case. Only You turned out to be a very much average read for me.

Only You is the first book in the Bachelor Brotherhood series. Even though it is a series it can be read as a stand alone as each book is about a different couple. So this is the story of Holly and Kevin. Let's start with Holly. Holly is a wedding planner and she wants to start her own business. She has a demanding boss and a sick grandmother. She is juggling everything, trying to stay sane. I liked Holly. She was a genuinely sweet person.

Then we have Kevin. Kevin is an ex-Marine and now he wants a normal life. Kevin actually ends up becoming Holly's neighbour after he ends up moving in an old house across from her. I liked Kevin but he acted dumb at times. Yes, I know he had bad luck where women were concerned but lumping everyone into the same category felt unfair to me. Kevin's attraction to Holly is true though and he does act on it.

Kevin and Holly made a cute couple. They rushed things at first and then Holly got gun shy because of Kevin's behaviour. But Kevin does make up for it with his patience. They share a friends who aren't really friends but trying hard to remain platonic relationship. It certainly doesn't help that Kevin's mother is Holly's boss and that Kevin has a meddling sister.

I also liked Kevin's two best friends. As you can probably tell I'm sure both of them will get books which will complete the remainder of this trilogy. The book moved steadily forward but the end was very rushed. I did not like how things happened at such a hurried pace. It got over before we knew it and I wasn't wholly satisfied. Only You by Denise Grover Swank was an okay read for me.
