Summary-
Julie Greene loves flings. Loves steamy first dates, sizzling first kisses, and every now and then, that first sexy romp between the sheets. Comfy pants, sleepy Sundays, movie nights on the couch? Shudder. But when Julie gets assigned the hardest story of her career—a first-person account of that magical shift between dating and "I do"—she'll need a man brave enough to give a total commitment-phobe a chance at more.
Normally, Mitchell Forbes would be exactly that man. A devastatingly hot workaholic who tends to stay in relationships for far too long, he should be the perfect subject for Julie's "research." But what Julie doesn't know is that Mitchell is looking to cut loose for once in his life. And the leggy journalist notorious for avoiding love is exactly the type of no-strings fling he's looking for. In other words, Mitchell is the polar opposite of what Julie needs right now. And, at the same time, he's exactly what she wants.

Review-
I had read a few really good reviews about Lauren Layne's books and that is the reason I decided to pick up After the Kiss which is the first book in her Sex, Love and Stiletto series. I'm just gonna come out and say this, I loved the entire series. The fact that I devoured all four books over the course of a weekend has to say something. I think anyone who enjoys contemporary romances will enjoy this series.
Getting back to After the Kiss, our heroine is Julie. Julie works at a magazine called as Stiletto which is a magazine geared towards females. Julie has a column on dating. She is a serial dater herself and only knows how to do flings. That is until she has to write a column on what happens after the dating in a relationship. So she decides she'll use Mitchell.
But Mitchell has intentions of his own. Mitchell is a straight forward guy working in Wall Street. He's come out of a long term relationship and he makes a bet with his friend that he can actually have a fling. What I loved about Julie and Mitchell was that it was nowhere near love at first sight for them. They had extremely different personalities and it was genuinely difficult to picture them together.
But the way Lauren Layne weaves their story was amazing. You get to see beneath Julie's bubbly face. Underneath the serious mask Mitchell wears is actually a really sweet and caring guy. I loved how Mitchell could always see through Julie. Julie brought colour and life into Mitchell's boring life and they were just perfect together.
The very important factor in this series is the friendship Julie shares with Grace and Riley. The girls were so much fun together and I can't wait to read each ones story. Lauren Layne has a witty and funny way of writing sexy romances. The only tiny complaint I have is that we didn't get an epilogue. Other than that I really enjoyed After the Kiss.
