Both Janhvi and I have plenty of book crushes! 

We almost end up falling in love with every book character. 

Some all-time-favourites are Caster Chronicles' Ethan Lawson Wate, the Fuentes brothers from the Perfect Chemistry series, all the irresistible Lords from Lords Of The Underworld and many, many more. 

After recently reading Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster (review will be up soon!), I am truly, madly and deeply in love with... 

TRAVIS MADDOX!!! 

The closest I could find to the Travis from my imagination! 

Ah... Travis is really out of this world and totally mind-blowing! 

Who is your crush? I am dying to know and see!

Review- The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst

Summary-

Review-

Before starting The Marriage Bargain I had read a ton of reviews for it, all of which were good, praising Jennifer Probst's writing style. Which is why I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised having discovered an amazing author who writes beautiful romance.

This is the story of Alexa, who is a bookstore owner. She requires money to save her parents home and she needs it fast. Here comes in Nick, he is Alexa's best friend's older brother who'd once shattered her heart. Nick needs a wife in order to inherit his father's corporation and he decides to proposition Alexa with an arrangement which will benefit them both.

Alexa was a sweet character. She was impulsive and kind and made no excuses for her behavior. She was the exact opposite of Nick who was controlled and guarded in every way. But Alexa's fiery passion makes him lose his mind every single time. Nick doesn't believe in the constitution of marriage or love and you could see why.

The whole Marriage of Convenience plot was not very new but the way Jennifer Probst executed the story was fun and refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed myself while reading Nick and Alexa's witty banter. Nick's cluelessness when he was falling in love with Alexa was fun. Each scene has sparks flying off the pages. The romance was superbly done and I enjoyed getting to know the whole cast of characters.

If you enjoy reading romance The Marriage Bargain is definitely the book for you. With brilliant dialogue, steamy scenes and heart melting romance it delivers everything you could want in a contemporary romance. This was a light, quick and cute read.

Review- Seven Moments In Time by Todd R. Tystad

Amazon Summary:

This collection of seven short stories examines human relationships and the complicated journey from childhood to adulthood. From a moment in a sandbox to a moment in a synagogue to a moment spent outside a Christmas party, these are the moments that reveal who we are and how we're weathering the journey.

REVIEW: 

Seven Moments in Time by Todd R. Tystad is a wonderful read. 

A book comprising of seven short stories, it is the kind of book that will be read in one sitting. I absolutely enjoyed every page of it. 

I would recommend this one to all because- 1) It does not take up much time and I'm sure everyone can try to spare at least half an hour to read. That's the amount of time it will take to read this one! And 2) The stories are really well written and worth reading. 
I got my copy for free on Amazon. 

There is no such thing as a favorite story, though I did really like the first one, A Routine Interrupted and the third one, A Boy Becomes A Man a bit more than the rest. 
Overall, a wonderful and short read and definitely worth reading.

Review- Losing It by Cora Carmack

Virginity.

But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

REVIEW:

Oh my God. I had absolutely no idea that I'd like this book as much as I did. Since a few weeks, I'd been seeing these great reviews of Losing It and I thought it was time I read it too and I am so glad I did. This has been one of the most entertaining books that I've read so far in this year which took me back to and reminded me of Meg Cabot's Queen Of Babble and Heather Wells (Size Doesn't Matter) series. Losing It was an absolutely fabulous read. 
The story is about Bliss Edwards, a 20 year old acting and stage management student who is keen on losing her virginity. Bliss has no idea what's in store for her when she runs away from having sex with a guy she met at the bar. Turns out that this guy, the very hot and stunning Garrick Taylor, is Bliss' new professor! 
Losing It is such a fun read. I found myself smiling throughout. I loved the fact that the book wasn't all just about sex, sex and sex. It was fun to read about Bliss' college friends, be it her best girl friend Kelsey or her best guy friend Cade. So this is where there arises a tiny complication. Apparently Bliss' best guy friend has always looked at her as more than just a friend. There is no need for love triangle haters to worry though, because Bliss is absolutely sure about her choice. 
Initially, I found Bliss to be a little irritating, but as I got to see more into her mind, it became impossible to dislike her. There were times when I thought she could have done something to make a situation better. Nonetheless, she was a very kind person. I loved loved loved Garrick. He was simply superb. Be it his looks, personality, teaching skills, acting skills, love-making skills or even better, to top it all of, British accent! He was perfect. I also really loved Cade since I'm a huge fan of the whole 'best friends turning into lovers' notion. He was a sweet, smart and a really nice guy. Losing It revolves around a play that Bliss' class has to perform based on Greek mythology and Bliss and Garrick themselves bond over Shakespeare. Isn't it just super cute when there is a literary aspect to contemporary reads? The whole concept was simply great.  
Losing It is an entertaining and lovely read. The love-making scenes were hot,the party scenes cool and the general college scenes were fun. Author Cora Carmack has written a fabulous contemporary romance that will make you want to turn the pages speedily. It is a fun, light-hearted read that is bound to leave you smiling and wanting more at the end.

REVIEW:

I was surprised to receive a message from co-author of TheStopover, Deepa Pinto asking for my opinion on the idea of a photo-fiction book, the first of its kind. When I checked out The Stopover website, I was completely intrigued and mesmerized by the whole concept. 

The Stopover, the brainchild of Deepa Pinto and Ram Prakash, is a photo-fiction book, consisting of four elegant and charming stories titled The Tibetan Wheel Of Wisdom, A Rocking Horse Can Gallop Too, The Sun Shines Forever and I Hear Them Calling, along with some really brilliant photos of the Indian cities where the stories are set. When it comes to India, I think she is best described in pictures and a few words, which is exactly what The Stopover is about. It’s all about India in her shining glory!

The Tibetan Wheel Of Wisdom is a story that took me by surprise. Set in Leh, a peaceful and calming destination, I actually felt peaceful while reading this rather enchanting experience of Varun who embarks on a visit to Leh to get away from his hectic schedule and depressing heartbreak. The pictures here are lovely, just like Leh.

‎A Rocking Horse Can Gallop Too is a simple yet extraordinary story about family and love. Vishwa and Kailash, two brothers who reunite after years and realise that their lives aren’t all that different, will be remembered for a long time. The pictures in the second story are colourful, vibrant and really mesmerising!

Before The Sun Shines Forever, the Todas from Ooty were just a part of my Geography text book in school. I now feel enlightened to know so much about them, they're a wonderful tribe from whom we have a lot to learn! This is the story of brothers, Deva and Vishwa who, in spite of their contrasting personalities, are grounded and respectful towards their people. The pictures here take you through a visual Ooty journey.

‎I Hear Them Calling is a lovely story about how the youth can after all make a difference! I loved reading about Vikram and Deepika, fresh graduates who are ready to step into the real world and start living life by their own terms. The sea life pictures here were mind blowing.

The Stopover is an altogether new and refreshing experience by way of which one journeys into a land full of surprises and grandeur.  The Stopover has left me speechless. It truly is a remarkable piece of art as I like to call it. The attention here is on the photos, which are enchanting and capture beauty in its natural, raw and fresh form. Apart from the photos, the writing in itself is absolutely stunning. Each story has a hidden message to convey while at the same time it gives a glimpse into the vast cultural euphoria that India is. Deepa Pinto and Ram Prakash deserve a huge round of applause for introducing the captivating concept of photo-fiction in writing and making it a reality.

Review- Charade by Nyrae Dawn

Summary-

Nineteen-year-old Cheyenne tries to portray the perfect life to mask the memories of her past. Walking in on her boyfriend with another woman her freshman year in college threatens that picture of perfection. 

Twenty-one-year-old Colt never wanted college and never expected to amount to anything, but when his mom's dying wish is for him to get his degree, he has no choice but to pretend it's what he wants too. 

Cheyenne needs a fake boyfriend to get back at her ex and Colt needs cash to take care of his mom, so they strike a deal that helps them both. But what if Cheyenne’s past isn’t what she thought? Soon they’re trading one charade for another—losing themselves in each other to forget about their pain. The more they play their game, the more it becomes the only thing they have that feels real.

Both Cheyenne and Colt know life is never easy, but neither of them expect the tragedy that threatens to end their charade and rip them apart forever.

Review-

I had been eagerly awaiting the release of Charade since a long time. I had been following, cough *stalking* cough, Nyrae's updates on her progress of Charade. I was super excited to know more about Colt and Cheyenne and I was certainly not disappointed.

The book starts off with Cheyenne catching her boyfriend Gregory cheating on her. She is devastated and all the insecurities she carries within herself come crashing down on her. Cheyenne's past was well described. She tries to put on a perfect face for everyone to hide her pain and the abandonment she has been through. But Colt always manages to see right through her.

Colt pretends to be her fake boyfriend to get back at her ex. Colt had his own set of problems. His mother has cancer and he needs all the cash he can get. So they strike a deal to play the game of charades. Colt was a typical guy, cocky and confident in his own skin. He doesn't want to get pulled in by Cheyenne but she's the only one who can help him forget his pain.

Nyrae writes some of the best book boys and Colt is definitely one of my favorites. Colt and Cheyenne had chemistry and you could see how they needed each other though they would never admit it till the end. This book was New Adult so there were was no holding back on the cursing or the steamy scenes. I also loved Bev, Cheyenne's roommate Andy and Adrian.

Nyrae announced on her blog that there will be a second book starring Adrian in The Games Series called Facade. I am super excited for it. Charade was a much darker and depressing book as compared to her other books like What a Boy Wants and What a Boy Needs. It is not exactly a light fluffy read. This book is heart wrenching and you can feel the characters' pain and desperation but it is brilliant nonetheless. I definitely recommend reading Charade.

Review- Spectral by Shannon Duffy

REVIEW:

I had been seeing Spectral around a lot when it came out. The moment I saw the words witches and magic, I knew this was one book that I had to read no matter what. Add to that a gorgeous cover and an intriguing summary. I won the book in the Indie Author giveaway hop. Unfortunately, I just didn't get the chance to read it even when I had the copy. Then came the Spectral Read-a-thon hosted by Nicole @ Tribute Books whom I'd like to thank and it was so much fun chatting with her! I knew this was my opportunity to read a book I'd had on my TBR pile since ages. The best part for me while reading Spectral as part of the Read-a-thon was being able to interact with author Shannon Duffy and get these really interesting inside snippets into what went into writing Spectral. It has been a really lovely journey. I mean, just imagine how cool it is, as an avid reader, to be able to read a book, talk with the author, ask them questions and get some really awesome extra info on it? It is a blast and I know that I am going to miss the Read-a-thon and chatting and discussing the book endlessly with all the new people I met. 

Now, onto Spectral. It was simply amazing! The book took me back to my Twilight days but maybe that's only because the Read-a-thon posts had some pictures from Twilight  and even though it did seem a bit predictable at times, what I loved most was the fact that it had been a long time since I read something so magical and stupefying, and so I enjoyed every page. And trust me, it was not all that predictable after all. It was an engrossing read that took all I had to not ditch the schedule of the Read-a-thon and finish it in a few sittings! 
Spectral is the story of Jewel, whose family keeps shifting from one part of the world to another which makes her believe she is part of the Witness Protection Program. She doesn't question it and her parents literally make and break her by deciding what she should wear, how she should live, what she should do, what she shouldn't do and all that. Jewel doesn't question anything and sincerely goes with the flow. In her current situation, her family has decided her fake name will be True. Jewel has no idea what her family has in mind for her or even who they actually are. She has no idea that turning seventeen is going to be one huge step and a total hurdle in her life.  
As a protagonist, I really admired Jewel. She was strong, a little naive but absolutely smart. Though a little confused about why her life is the way it is (which is totally understandable), she is determined and knows what she wants. There are two guys in the story and the best part about Jewel was that she doesn't kiss one because she knows it is the other who she likes. Confusing, I know, but really rare and beautiful and I don't know how to elaborate that without giving away any spoilers. 
The two guys, Roman and Chase were both interestingly opposite. Roman has dark hair and is the intense, mysterious, sexy guy, while Chase has blond hair and is simple, kind, helpful and down-to-earth. It was captivating reading about them. I have to admit that I have a soft corner for Chase, but even then, Roman was his own self and a very likable character. 
Jewel's little brother Jayden was adorable and an absolute joy to have around. I loved the relationship between the two of them. They were playful and thoughtful with each other. Jewel also makes a new friend, Taylor in her recent town and Taylor was really awesome. The two friends do what any normal friends do and their banter was fun to read and added a light-hearted touch to the book. 
There are plenty side characters in Spectral who come from various witch covens of the world. Even though it was a little confusing for me  to remember them all, they have all been well portrayed and elucidated by author Shannon Duffy. They each play an important role in either helping or destroying Jewel.  Spectral has a very absorbing  plot that pulls you into it. It's like journeying with Jewel. There were times when I myself was confused about which guy I like better or what to make of a particular situation when  Shannon told me that it's bound to happen because I am with Jewel on this quest of finding who she really is. Spectral is a bewitching read and I know I've said it before but I'll say it again. I loved read reading it. Who doesn't enjoy a gripping read about magic and witches? Author Shannon Duffy's writing is striking, easy to understand and fun to read. It was absolutely impressive and a spectacular read and I think it's high time I stop now, because I can go on and on and on praising Spectral and gushing about how cool it was to talk to talk to Shannon. Spectral is a different and riveting story with a new concept that's not only outstanding, but also really cool, magical and splendid.

Summary-

When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation.
