“Lauren Layne gets the red rose for this one, and fans of The Bachelor will fall in love with this thoroughly charming story.”—Kate O’Keeffe, bestselling author
RUNAWAY GROOM

Loveswept
For one charming playboy, getting cast
on a Bachelor-esque reality TV show is the shock of a lifetime—until he finds
love where he least expects it.
Gage
Barrett’s reputation as a ladies’ man has been greatly exaggerated, but none of
that matters after a drunken bet lands him on Jilted, a reality TV show that
matches runaway grooms with wannabe brides. Now he’s stuck at a Hawaiian resort
with nineteen women competing to drag him back to the altar—and one contestant
who’s even more miserable than he is. Gage has no idea how feisty, independent
Ellie Wright wound up in the cast, but it’s obvious she hates his guts. And if
there’s one thing Gage likes, it’s a challenge. . . .
Ellie can’t
believe she let her best friend talk her into exchanging her dignity for a
glorified bikini contest. Still, she could use the exposure—her business is
struggling—and she’ll probably be one of the first to get eliminated anyway.
But Gage isn’t the shallow jerk Ellie anticipated—and he’s in no rush to send
her home. As stolen kisses turn into secret trysts, she finds herself losing
track of what’s real and what’s for the camera. With the wedding finale
looming, this runaway groom is tempting Ellie to start believing in storybook
endings.

Review-
Runaway Groom by Lauren Layne is the second book in her I Do, I Don't series. This series is loosely based on reality shows like The Bachelor and all. We had got a hint about whom the next book was going to be about from the last book. But these books can be very well be read as stand alones. I enjoyed Runaway Groom.
This is the story of Gage and Ellie. Let's start with Gage. Gage is a famous Hollywood star who has a reputation of being a ladies man. He has actually jilted two brides at the altar but he had his reasons behind them. People on saw what they wanted to when it came to Gage but he was a good man. Ellie had her misconceptions but she did see the real Gage beneath the star persona.
Ellie was a sweet girl. She actually didn't want to be a part of the show but because of her friend Marjorie's antics she got roped in. Ellie is actually on the show to promote her own tee shirt brand. Ellie is put in with a bunch of women who hope to capture Gage's heart as expected. What Ellie doesn't expect is the friendship which blooms between them and when their late night talks turn into something more.
I liked Gage and Ellie's chemistry. They were good together and even though they didn't want to be pulled to each other they were. They had an attraction and none of them were denying it. Ellie's hesitance at accepting Gage's feelings as real was valid and Gage was contract bound so he had to fulfil his part of the deal on the show.
Lauren Layne writes well as usual. The only complaint I have is that there were so many contestants. I get that it was a reality show and that there needed to many many personalities but it was really very hard to keep track of and I got bored of listening to what other girls were up to. It lost a little focus from the actual romance. But still overall it was a good book with a cute ending.
