What hyped up book do you think was worth all the talk?

Answer: I think Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers was totally worth all the hype. I had read many great reviews before starting it. The book was unique and beautiful and it took my breath away. The writing style was elegant and I loved Ismae and Duval. The book was complicated in a good way and I loved it.

Movie Trailer- Beautiful Creatures

Just today, the trailer for the Beautiful Creatures movie, that hits theatres on the 13th of February, 2013, has been released. Beautiful Creatures is book #1 of the Caster Chronicles series. 

The Beautiful Creatures Novels is a great stop to know know more about the series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

Okay, honestly, from all that I've seen and heard until now, I'm not a huge fan of the movie. I can note down a whole list of whys. But let's leave that for another day. Besides, the whole movie is yet to come out. Let's just enjoy whatever has been put up for us too see. 

Janhvi and I absolutely love the books, that's reason enough for us to be excited about it!

Review- Night Of The Purple Moon by Scott Cramer

REVIEW:

Night of the Purple Moon was a brilliant read.
Life on Castine Island was absolutely normal, until the night of the purple moon. The space dust killed all the adults on the planet, save for some scientists living in quarantine. The situation leaves kids alone to take care of themselves. The lives of all children on the verge on puberty are in danger as they will be the next victims of the purple moon.
Abby, Jordan and Toucan of the Leigh family take the initiative and bring together all kids of Castine Island. All of the kids are extremely intelligent and mature for their age. What I really liked about them was that they are so inclined on making sure that everyone is safe. Especially Abby, who is so determined and a strong shoulder for the others.
The story revolves around the kids and the roles that they play in difficult situations. Many times, situations were explained from various points of views, which made the book more interesting. Sometimes, you could absolutely relate to some of the incidents and even many of the characters, which I thought made it more realistic and easy to relate to.
I thought that the book was put down in a very systematic and thorough manner. I do wish that the end was more detailed. Overall, Night of the Purple Moon was a great read. If you get the chance to read it, don't miss it! It was really touching and hard to believe that the kids are fighting not only for surviving, but also living life the best way they can manage. What I learnt from the story was that bravery, courage and love are all it takes to get through almost anything!

Review- Clash by Nicole Williams

Goodreads Summary-

The only easy thing about Jude and Lucy’s relationship is their love for one another. Everything else is hard. 

Especially when it comes to reining in Jude’s trigger touch temper and Lucy’s increasing jealousy of Jude’s Spirit Sister on the cheer squad who’s attached herself to him in just about every way a girl could. Feeling the stress of trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy while becoming the foremost dancer in her class, Lucy knows something’s going to break. She wants both. She needs both. But if she doesn’t make a choice, she risks losing everything.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love might be the thing that just isn’t enough.



Review-

Clash is the sequel to Crash. You can find my review of Crash here. Crash ended with Luce getting in Julliard and Jude finding her. They started their relationship again and decided to give it a chance and see where things took them. I have to say Clash was much better than Crash. The story seemed a little stretched out but it was a good read.

Again the story completely focuses on Jude and Luce's relationship. Whatever the blurb and cover of the book show is just plain misleading. Jude and Luce's relationship is a complete roller coaster and the ups and downs keep coming. 

In Crash I found Luce as the more sensible character. But in Clash, she acts completely immature and jealous. The fights which Jude and Luce get into were somehow stupid and their way of showing their feelings for each other was just wrong. It seemed like throughout the book Jude kept pining for Luce and Luce kept leaving him with her trust issues.

But like Crash, I easily managed to breeze through Clash. The story keeps moving forward so you don't get bored. Some situations were super cheesy but the others worked in their favour. Nicole Williams manages to write her romance well but there were no good supporting characters. The writing was okay nothing great.

If you've read Crash then there's no harm in reading Clash. It had a good closure and I really liked the epilogue. Luce and Jude have chemistry and their journey to reach their happily ever after is worth giving a shot. Towards the end things seemed pulled out but maybe that's the way it was supposed to be. Clash was a good book but definitely not something I will be rereading.
