REVIEW: 

Not a bad read at all, but not very good either. Know Thy Enemy is a prelude to author Douglas Misquita's The Apocalypse Trigger. I am not a fan of thriller novels, but I really don't mind giving all genres a try. I have read Douglas Misquita's Haunted, and that was a thriller/ mystery that I genuinely found interesting and well written. As for Know Thy Enemy, well, I didn't like it very much and I cringe to say this, but honesty is the policy, so here we go. 

The sole reason I picked up Know Thy Enemy is because it is barely 40 pages long. So I thought, why not? It took me less than an hour to finish off this quick read which introduces you to the characters in The Apocalypse Trigger. Well, firstly, save for maybe one or two names, I don't remember all the characters, and I didn't even understand the story. It could be my fault, it could be the book's fault. I don't know. But like I have been saying, I am not the biggest fan of Know Thy Enemy. 

Fans of thriller will devour this story as even I can say without doubt that it is action-packed. There is lots happening and the story moves from here to there like rapid fire, which is good. I always feel that short stories work only when they're done well. Unfortunately- and I hate to say this because I genuinely support Douglas Misquita- this was not for me. I will still for sure give The Apocalypse Trigger a try some time.

Review- Impressions of Egypt by Douglas Misquita

Author Douglas Misquita's Impressions of Egypt is a tiny collection of memories the author has shared with his readers in the form of a small book from his short travel to Egypt. Like the author, and probably like most others, I have also been fascinated by Egypt for a long time now. Studying about the country in Geography class in school, playing games based on some Egyptian aspect or the other and then coming across Egyptian references in books all added in making me really curious about Egypt. That's the main reason why I was looking forward to the book, and the best part about it, for me, was that it's an extremely quick read that I devoured in an hour. 

Because Impressions of Egypt is Douglas' own experiences put into words, I must say that the author has described everything really nicely. The writing was easy to read and simple to follow. It was difficult to imagine everything that was described- and I'm sure Douglas will agree with me here- as I know it must really be difficult to capture the beauty of Egypt. I quite like this one particular line used by the author in the very beginning of the book: 

"I suddenly realise the English vocabulary is extremely limited: It cannot convey my experience [...]" 

At the same time, however, I cannot deny the fact that for me, as a reader, it was the closest I could come in touch with Egypt and it was great to try see it with the help of this book. 

Impressions of Egypt is a great collection of Douglas' travel experiences and he has done a very nice job of sharing the same with his readers. I liked reading the book and for a such a short read, it was almost like a travelogue and was packed with lots of facts and information that I will definitely retain.

REVIEW:

A thrilling read, Haunted is an intelligent book with a brilliant plot that will keep the reader on his/her toes and make them want to move on to the next page ASAP! 

FBI Agent Kirk Ingram's family is brutally murdered under his nose and he is helpless in the situation. From there, the story moves to various happenings all over. The characters and their names do get a bit confusing, but that is what makes it all the more interesting. It makes the reader want to know more and more... Some of the really impressive characters were all the FBI Agents and the smart detectives as also the ones that pose a threath. Besides being a battle to maintain stability and save the lives of innocent people, the book also speaks of how the Agents leave behind their families to save the world and yet are willing to lay down their lives for their families AND a good cause at the same time.
Overall, I'd say the entire story is gripping and totally worth reading.
