REVIEW:

Ignite Me was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated releases of 2014 and Tahereh Mafi's simple hope, as stated in the Acknowledgements, for this being a worthy conclusion to the Shatter Me trilogy for the readers may or may not have come true. It's always sad to say goodbye to a series that has been so terrifying and beautiful. A series that's been a mind blowing journey with the amazing and wonderful protagonists and the deadly and painful antagonists. And a series that's made my mind go from left to right to centre in a matter of a few words, lines and books.

What I admired and loved the most about Ignite Me was the development of the characters from Shatter Me to Destroy Me to Unravel Me (which is clearly my favourite now) to Fracture Me to finally, Ignite Me. Juliette went from being a depressed, outcast, lonely, sad and confused girl to this action-packed and kick-ass heroine, who took control of everything and did a great job at it, even though she seemed naive, confused and silly. I cannot even express how much I love Adam and Warner. Adam, albeit stupid, is sweet and sensitive. Warner is so suave, sexy and smart and he had so much of page space in this book which was exciting to see.  Adam's younger brother James has always been a sweetheart. The one person who stood out the most for me, however, was Kenji. Besides being funny and entertaining, he's a brave soldier who has his ups and downs and climbs and falls and who stays determined and keeps rocking no matter what. 

There really isn't anything I haven't said about how much I love all the books in the series to the point that I don't have anything left to say right now except that I liked this book but I really wish it had more. While I did like how everything fell into place, when I contemplate over it practically, when it comes to dystopians, government, politics and power, the question never really is about what's going on but it's all about what next, and unfortunately, Ignite Me didn't take up the latter, and I can't believe I'm saying this since I prefer open endings over concrete ones, but like I said, practicality took over me. And personally, I feel that deaths make dystopians, dystopians, which was clearly a missing factor here and it disappointed me slightly. In spite of the beautiful writing, I felt that it was rushed and finished for the sake of it. 

Tahereh Mafi has written, like she always does, a brilliant book but for some reason, it wasn't as good as the first two books and the novella in between them. I was expecting an epic conclusion with lots of breakdowns and haphazardness but maybe that’s where I’m wrong. Maybe I expected too much. I don’t even care what Team I’m on right now. Nonetheless, this is definitely a series that’s going to be remembered forever simply for its emotional manipulation (thanks for that term, Janhvi), the hassle the Teams created and the beautiful writing.

REVIEW:

Fracture Me is a novella from Adam Kent's point of view in the Shatter Me series that falls between book #2 Unravel Me and the final installment in the trilogy, Ignite Me. Before I get onto anything, let me just clarify that I am Team Warner. That's the reason why I wasn't as excited about Fracture Me as Team Adam members or as in between about it as readers who can't decide what Team to join. But what I can say is that I hoped this novella would be drastic like Destroy Me, but but but... it wasn't. 

Many readers have not liked Fracture Me as much as they would have loved to like it and I can completely understand why. This book isn't how and what Tahereh Mafi usually writes. I get that. And I also get that Adam seemed really stupid at times for not going after the love of his life the way any sane person probably would, especially since he seemed crazy in love with Juliet in the first book. 

“Losing a parent is excruciating, but somehow, the pain is so much different from losing a child. And James, to me, in many ways, feels like my own kid. I raised him. Took care of him. Protected him. Fed him and clothed him. Taught him most everything he knows. He’s my only hope in all this devastation- the one thing I’ve always lived for, always fought for. I’d be lost without him.

James gives my life purpose.”

In my most sincere and humble opinion, what Adam does is actually really amazing. As a sensible person, he does exactly what is expected of him- he puts family before anything and anyone else and I cannot express how much I admire him for that. It was so good and highly refreshing to see Adam dedicate his life to the safety of his little brother James. Yes, Adam did seem stupid sometimes, but he has responsibilities and come to think of it, a dystopian world is very well capable of making someone mad so I understand Adam.

For such a short read, Fracture Me isn't a five star read like all the other books in the series and it isn't even much content wise, but it was very good whatever it was and I love this series so much. This book has made me respect Adam and at the same time, it has made me realise why I am all for Warner winning the girl in the first place. Adam has a life besides Juliet and he will be happy without Juliet; I know that.

REVIEW:

Shatter Me was insanely good, Destroy Me was insanely better and Unravel Me- oh my God!- Unravel Me is insanely and undoubtedly the best book so far in Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me series. 

The twists and turns of this book have left me appalled and gratified. There was so much going on and it was just so psychotropic that I found myself screaming WHAT THE F*** at the end of almost every chapter and seeing as there are 73 chapters... Oh damn! I've cursed a hell lot. Oops. 

I knew I was in for a jolty ride with this one. Just when I thought that the shockers couldn't get any more shocking, Tahereh Mafi goes all BOOM!!! and throws something much much more shocking our way.  I could almost picture the author rubbing her palms together and grinning wickedly at readers. Seriously. This book gave me so many shock attacks I am still trying to put the pieces together and process the puzzle. 

In Unravel Me, everything changes. Really. Everything. 

We got to see so many sides of everyone. The sweet and sensible Adam became cool and distant. Warner... Oh God! Warner whose name isn't even- Okay. No spoilers. Just like in Destroy Me, he was impeccable. He was swoon-worthy. Both the boy's relationship with Juliette was simply stunning. Juliette is one kick ass protagonist. She knows how dangerous she is and she wants to protect everyone. She knows what she wants, but she finds herself... Okay, that's it. No spoilers. Speaking of change, the gorgeous and fun Kenji became strict and serious and when not serious, his banter with Adam and Juliette was hilarious and his relation with Adam's younger brother James was so sweet. 

Now onto the writing. Tahereh Mafi's writing is simply beautiful. It's beautiful beautiful beautiful. It's so beautiful that I don't really see any point in highlighting quotes, because if you were to choose the most beautiful lines, you'd end up highlighting the whole damn book. 

Unravel Me is just so so so good that it makes it difficult to get out of the tick tick tick phase and it drives you crazy and leaves you wanting more and oh please! Book #3, come out ASAP.

I didn't want to believe Taheref Mafi when she said that Destroy Me will change the way readers will look at Warner. I was inclined on being Team Adam since the time he was introduced in Shatter Me. I feel bad to admit that I was wrong and it's always best to believe what our dear authors say. 
Destroy Me is a novella or book number 1.5 of Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me trilogy and it is from Warner's point of view. Those of you who have already read Shatter Me know who Warner is and for those of you who haven't, he is the Head of Sector 45 of The Reestablishment that focuses on bringing about a change in the current chaotic situation. 
I have to say here what all readers have been saying- I LOVE WARNER. He is impeccable. With Destroy Me, we get a glimpse inside the walls of The Reestablishment and into Warner. There is so much to Warner's story, he isn't what I thought he'd be. He is so suave, smooth and sexy. I loved reading from his POV and I seriously don't mind if the remaining books in the series are told from the same. 

Warner has a past and it makes you want to love him. His father is cruel and has plans that will leave Warner devastated especially when he feels a connection to Juliette and even though it seemed like he was just trying to persuade her for fame and power in the first book, there is a lot more to his intentions as well. 

Besides, we also get information on Juliette's and Adam's situation too which adds an irresistible appeal  to the book. Though to be honest, just Warner Warner and more Warner would have been absolutely completely alright with me. 
Overall, Destroy Me is a great great great read that will make you want to love Warner. It has made me so so so curious about the next book, Unravel Me in the series. MORE WARNER PLEASE!

Pathetically  insanely hard to shut, Shatter Me will make you want to flip through the pages at an alarmingly high speed.

One touch is all it takes for Juliette to kill destroy anyone. An abandoned child as a result of her dangerous unusual ability, Juliette is thrown by her parents into a new, cold, horrible different world, controlled by the Reestablishment, an entity  claiming working towards making the world a better place. In the 4 walls of her cell, she accidently stumbles upon her love since childhood, Adam. Adam has also faced deadly terrifying problems as a child and has grown up to be one of the few people retaining their humanity. Trapped in the vicious cycle of a hard life and fateful death created by Warner- head of the Reestablishment- Adam and Juliette become obviously inseparable and overcome tons of obstacles to save the life of Adam’s younger brother, James and so many others. There then comes another Institution that is trying to actually, really do something about the current horrible conditions. This is where Castle, head of Omega Point comes into the picture along with secret agent and Adam’s friend, Kenji (who is gorgeous fun to have around). Along with the help of everyone at Omega Point, Juliette and others like her out there will try to control their abilities and use it for some heroic good deeds.

Shatter Me is a fast- paced, immensely gripping story about a cold world, where people with weird unusual abilities reside. A battle to save civilization and humanity, the book is a spectacular read, counting the interesting strikethroughs. Something you should not even think about giving a miss.

Go ahead, prepare to be shattered immersed in this cool read! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
