Honestly, I've had a reading slump going on and I've been reading this book the entire month of March, without any regrets though, because it is so good!

Review- Chasing River by K.A.Tucker

Summary-

Armed with two years' worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin. Review-

I really enjoyed the first two books in K.A.Tucker's Burying Water series so I was quite excited to get to Chasing River. Unlike the first two books which have the heroines names in the titles Chasing River actually has the hero's name in the title. I'm just going to come out and say this, Chasing River was by far my favourite book in the series. I loved it to pieces. It had everything I'd want in a book to make it an enjoyable read for me.

Let's start with Amber. We'd met Amber in the first book Burying Water, she is Jesse's twin sister and an all around good girl. Amber is on a trip to discover the world. She worked hard but she still feels very much out of place sometimes. Then when she's in Ireland a stranger saves her life and she just can't get him out of her head. I liked Amber more than I thought I would. She was sweet and a little shy but she always tried to do the right thing.

Then we have River our hero. I LOVED River. He was a swoon worthy guy and just somehow perfect for Amber even though they were total opposites. River works hard at his family's pub. He doesn't want anyone to suffer because of his elder brother's stupidity. I liked how River was. His loyalty towards his family was commendable and I loved seeing him fall hard for Amber.

I don't know why but I feel that the romance between Amber and River was the sweetest. The opposites attract theory works here but they have an incredible connection that they share which pulls them closer. K.A.Tucker writes the best chemistry between couples without ever making it too cheesy or corny. River and Amber obviously had the odds stacked against them with both of them living on different continents but they made it work.

It is also very creditable to see the amount of research the author has done on Ireland and its history. All the scenes felt really authentic and it was very easy to imagine the setting in Ireland while reading the book. I loved River's brother Rowen and I'm really looking forward to reading Ivy's book which is next. Chasing River was an amazing read, one which I would highly recommend to everyone.

Review-

I was lucky enough to attend Sreemoye's launch for her previous book Sita's Curse. Though I haven't had a chance to read Sita's Curse yet, I liked Sreemoyee as a person so as soon as I saw she had a new book coming out I wanted to get my hands on it. You've Got the Wrong Girl seems like a book which is right up my alley. I'm just going to come out and say this, I really did enjoy You've Got the Wrong Girl. It is one of the finer books written by an Indian author and I enjoyed reading Dushyant's story.

Dushyant is the bestselling author of Kinda Cliched. Everyone knows that the book is based on his real life story where he had one night with the supposed girl of his dreams whose name he doesn't know.  With the pressure from his publisher and his fans Dushyant is now has to write the sequel to the book. The only problem here? He needs to find the girl to continue his story. And so his quest begins.

I adored Dushyant. He was by no means a perfect guy or hero material. Dushyant made mistakes, had regrets and was actually pretty easy to relate to. He wanted to find the girl so bad. Even though he kept saying it was for the book deep down he wanted to find her for himself. I liked Dushyant's thought processes and his journey was funny and entertaining at times.

What made Dushyant an even more interesting character for me was his family and loved ones. He actually had a great support system behind him even though sometimes, he wasn't ready to let them in. Dushyant's friend Bhaskar was also an important part of Dushyant's journey. It was like all these little things and incidents and people came to a full circle when Dushyant finally finds his girl.

I want to point out that though there is some romance in You've Got the Wrong Girl at its core it is Dushyant's story. Of the changes and mistakes he makes in his life and what he learns from them. But I did enjoy what romance we got. Sreemoyee has a way of writing that is sensual and elegant. You feel as though you are right there with Dushyant wanting to yell at him and cheer him on. I definitely recommend You've Got the Wrong Girl to everyone.

Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

The actual topic this week is "books on my spring TBR", but I'm not really an ardent follower of TBRs, so I have decided to take up a topic that was done way back in 2011, when we hadn't even started our blog. Most books are recommended to me by my blogger BFFs like Janhvi, Tanja (well, more like forced, but oh well...) and Glass @ Ja Citam, a ti? and Ao  @ Aobibliosphere. I love these guys as they have the most interesting recommendations that I take extremely seriously and more often that not, end up loving just as much as they did. So here we go: 

This beauty was recommended to me by Ao, and I loved it to bits. Check out Ao's review. But let me warn you, it will make you want to read the book ASAP.
