Review- Faster We Burn by Chelsea M.Cameron

Summary-

Katie Hallman is done with douchebags. Done with guys who treat her like crap and leave her broken. But then Stryker Grant is there anyway. With his numerous piercings and bleached hair, he’s the polar opposite of all of her past relationships, which makes him the perfect candidate.

At first, Katie just sees him as a physical escape from her previous rocky relationship, and Stryker doesn’t seem to mind just being a distraction from Katie’s problems. But soon he’s getting under her skin, peeling back layers she’d rather keep covered. She tries to make it clear that she doesn’t want a relationship, but keeps breaking her own rules.

Then a tragedy sends Katie into the only arms who are there to catch her, and she’ll realize that she needs him more than she ever thought possible. But is she ready to let herself trust another guy with her already-battered heart? Or will she push him away to protect herself from getting hurt again?

Review-

Faster We Burn is the second book is Chelsea M.Cameron's Fall and Rise series. My review of Deeper We Fall can be found here. Faster We Burn is the story of Katie and Stryker whom we'd already met in Deeper We Fall and their story had already kind of started in the previous book itself.

I was not much of a fan of Katie in the first book. But after the incident at the end of Deeper We Fall she is forced to face the hard facts. Getting into Katie's head made me understand her better. She thinks that having a physical relationship with Stryker can fill in the need inside of her. She doesn't want a relationship because it always leaves her broken and she is done with all of it. Katie had a lot of growing up to do and by the end of the book I actually ended up liking her.

Then there's Stryker. He doesn't mind being only a physical distraction for Katie's problems. But soon they both seem to crave each other like the air they breathe and Katie completely gets under his skin. I really liked Stryker. He had a crappy childhood which makes him not trust in relationships. But still he was a loyal friend and a protective brother to Trish.

Stryker and Katie's relationship which starts off as a no strings attached turns into love before the both of them even realize it. In the beginning Katie and Stryker were so different from each other that it was impossible to imagine the two of them together. But they had chemistry and the romance was hot. I loved Stryker's passion for art. Katie sticking with her family in tough times made her admirable.

We once again get to meet the whole crew throughout the book and I am really fond of all of them. I'm really curious to see what'g going on between Will and Audrey and Trish and Max. I have no clue who the next book is going to be about but I hope it's Will's. Chelsea M.Cameron writes an entertaining book with real characters. I enjoyed Faster We Burn and hope to read more from her soon.

Review- Deeper We Fall by Chelsea M.Cameron

Summary-

Two years after her best friend was involved in a car accident that caused a traumatic brain injury, Lottie Anders is ready to start her freshman year of college. Ready to move on. Ready to start forgetting the night that ripped her life apart.

Her plans come to a screeching halt when not one, but both brothers responsible for the accident end up back in her life again.

Zack is cruel, selfish and constantly rubbing what happened to her friend in Lottie's face.

Zan is different. He listens to her awkward ramblings. He loves "To Kill a Mockingbird" as much as she does, and his dark eyes are irresistible. His words are few and far between, but when he does speak, she can't help but listen.

The trouble is, Zan was the driver in the accident, and now Lottie's discovered he lied to her about what happened that night. Now she must decide if trusting him again will lead to real forgiveness, or deeper heartache.

Review-

Deeper We Fall was not the first book I'd read by Chelsea M.Cameron. I'd read My Favorite Mistake by her and loved it. So I was expecting a good read and that is exactly what I got. Deeper We Fall changed my expectations which I had built before starting the book and I thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in it.

Lottie, is our heroine. She is trying to move on from the accident which left her best friend a traumatic brain injury. She wants to forget what ripped her life apart and start afresh in college. But things change drastically when the brothers who were responsible for the accident end up back in her life. I really liked Lottie. She was caring and kind and friendly. Her nervous ramblings were cute and after all that she'd been through you just wanted what was best for her.

Then we have the two brothers Zack and Zan. Zack is the cruel one who seems to have already forgotten what happened. Then there's Zan. He is intense and quiet. I was super happy to get his point of view in the book because if not for that we wouldn't have been able to see the depth of his feelings for Lottie. he has got so many issues of his own to deal with but still his love for Lottie remains constant and steady.

The romance is Deeper We Fall is slow burn. Zan and Lottie are not even friends until after the first half of the book. But it was supposed to be that way because both of them have to come to terms with the changes which are happening in their lives. The romance was nice and believable. But I totally saw through the whole secret/lie thing.

One other thing I loved about the book was Lottie's bond with Will, her twin brother. I may be completely biased cause I have a twin brother too but their relationship was portrayed to perfection. The whole twindar which they have and their constant support of each other through thick and thin made me love them more. I loved the whole gang and I'm excited for the next book. Fans of new adult should definitely give Chelsea M.Cameron a try.

Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway- My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea M Cameron

Summary-
Taylor Caldwell can't decide if she wants to kiss her new college roommate or punch him.

On the one hand, Hunter Zaccadelli is a handsome, blue-eyed bundle of charm. On the other, he's a tattooed, guitar-playing bundle of bad boy. Maybe that's why Taylor's afraid of falling in love with him, or anyone else. She doesn't want to get burned, and even though her other roommates adore him, she wants him gone before it's too late.

Hunter himself has been been burned before, but the fact that Taylor calls him out on his crap and has the sexiest laugh ever make him decide maybe love isn't a lost cause. They make a bet: if she can convince him she truly loves or hates him, he'll leave the apartment--and leave her alone. The problem is, the more time they spend together, the less she hates him, and the more she moves toward love.

But when the man who holds the key to Taylor's fear of giving up her heart resurfaces and threatens to wreck everything, she has to decide: trust Hunter with her greatest secret, or do everything in her power to win that bet and drive him away forever.

Review-

My Favorite Mistake is a book from the New Adult genre which are books who have protagonists in college. I am so loving this genre and am happy to say that we are getting to see more and more books coming up. The New Adult books just seem more realistic and fun to me and My Favorite Mistake was no exception.

It starts off by Hunter and Taylor getting paired as roommates. Taylor wants Hunter to leave and so Hunter makes a bet with her that if she can convince him she truly loves him or hates him, he'll leave the apartment. Thus begins the journey between Taylor and Hunter.

Hunter and Taylor as individual characters were really nice and likeable. Each of them have their own obstacles to overcome and they both have a crappy past which makes them hesitant towards the future. It was great to see their independence and how they slowly started growing close to each other. The best part was the time each of them took to getting to know one another in spite of the crazy attraction between them.

The chemistry between Hunter and Taylor was totally off the charts. I loved their banter and the romance. Their other roommates and friends make a great cast of supporting characters. There were just so many times I laughed while reading this book! There were some really cute tidbits in conversations which just made me love the book even more.

Chelsea M Cameron is a wonderful author and I will definitely be looking into more books by her. Her writing is smooth and the story flows perfectly in the whole college atmosphere. Once you start reading My Favorite Mistake, it is difficult to put down. If you want to read a New Adult book which will make you feel happy and satisfied at the end of it, I definitely recommend giving My Favorite Mistake a try.
