Summary-
Sparks fly between a misunderstood New York socialite and a cynical divorce lawyer in this lively standalone rom-com from the USA Today bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Love Story.
Pampered heiress Georgianna Watkins has a party-girl image to maintain, but all the shopping and clubbing is starting to feel a little bit hollow—and a whole lot lonely. Though Georgie would never admit it, the highlights of her week are the mornings when she comes home at the same time as her uptight, workaholic neighbour is leaving to hit the gym and put in a long day at the office. Teasing him is the most fun Georgie’s had in years—and the fuel for all her naughtiest daydreams.
Celebrity divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney doesn’t have much time for women, especially spoiled tabloid princesses who spend more time on Page Six than at an actual job. Although Georgie’s drop-dead gorgeous, she’s also everything Andrew resents: the type of girl who inherited her penthouse instead of earning it. But after Andrew caps one of their predawn sparring sessions with a surprise kiss—a kiss that’s caught on camera—all of Manhattan is gossipping about whether they’re a real couple. And nobody’s more surprised than Andrew to find that the answer just might be yes.

Review-
Let's start with Georgiana. Georgie is a New York socialite with a party girl image. She comes from a privileged back ground and is usually happy with her glamorous and a bit shallow world. But Georgie always finds time in her day to exchange quips with the uptight divorce attorney Andrew. I liked Georgie. She was a good person even if she sometimes portrayed herself to be a bimbo. Her optimistic view of the world and smile on her face for everyone was something admirable.
Then we have Andrew. Andrew is a celebrity divorce attorney who obviously, doesn't believe in love. He is happy sticking to his strict schedule but Georgie always seems to get in his way and disrupt his plans. There is a reason he can't stop thinking about her and he knows the attraction goes deeper than he would like to admit. I liked Andrew. He was smart and serious. He actually needed someone like Georgie in his life to cheer him up.
Like I said before Georgie and Andrew have a total opposites attract thing going on. Their personalities are miles apart and each one assumes the wrong thing about the other on different occasions. When they finally open their eyes they can see that they make for a perfect pair who balance each other out quite well. I wish we'd got a bit more about Andrew's family though.
So from what all I've said above you'd think that everything was perfect with this book. What I can't point out exactly is what was missing. I liked Georgie and Andrew on paper but their story didn't touch my heart. The climax was very predictable and I wished for a little more depth during the course of the story. To sum it up, Walk of Shame was a nice, quick read but I would suggest picking up something else by Lauren Layne if this is your first venture into the world of Lauren Layne's books.
