Review- Staking His Claim by Tessa Bailey

Summary-

He wants her. All of her.

NYPD sniper Matt Donovan is in Hell. Instead of driving his best friend’s little sister home from college, he’s stuck with her roommate—a fresh-faced ray-of-sunshine with a body that makes grown men weep. There’s no way he’ll allow himself to taint the little vixen, no matter how hard she tries to tempt him, so he resigns himself to the longest—and hardest—drive of his life.

Matt’s obvious attraction suits grad student Lucy Mason just fine. She had no idea her brother’s best friend was so deliciously hot. Knowing he’d never have his wicked way with his buddy’s sister, she lies about her identity and seduces him. But Matt’s no fumbling college boy. His desires run deep—and dark—and he wants to teach Lucy what wicked really means.

Matt’s demanding appetites only make Lucy want more. But when her cover's blown, he’s furious—even as his hunger for her becomes insatiable. Matt can’t trust anyone, least of all himself. And he knows all too well that darkness always destroys the light…

Review-

I have read all the books in Tessa Bailey's Line of Duty series and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every single one of them. Staking His Claim is the fifth and the last book in the series. I'm a little sad to say goodbye to these characters because I love them so but I was happy that everyone got their happy ending.

Matt is a NYPD sniper. As we've seen from the previous books he's the silent brooding type. When Matt does a favor for Brent to pick his sister up but he ends up having to babysit her roommate or so he thinks. I liked Matt but I don't think he was my favorite. I am addicted to Tessa Bailey's dirty talking heroes and there was some of that but his charm didn't completely do it for me.

Then we have Lucy. She is Brent's little sister who when she sees Matt pretends to be her roommate so that she isn't a nuisance. Lucy was a fun girl. Yeah I did not like the lying bit but that was resolved pretty quickly. Lucy is the opposite of Matt is her sunny ways and her fun nature.

Now the initial conflict which keeps Matt and Lucy apart is Matt's insistence that his darkness will tarnish Lucy. I got that but his urges weren't all that dark. There is definitely chemistry between Lucy and Matt though and their intimate scenes were hot. The banter between Matt and Lucy is really nice as well.

I also loved seeing the previous characters. Especially Brent and Hayden. They still remain to be my favorite couple. Maybe it was that or the fact that I didn't love Matt and Lucy even half as much as the previous couples in the series but this one fell a little short for me. Still, Tessa Bailey is an excellent author and if you want a hot romance her books should definitely be on your list.

Review- Asking For Trouble by Tessa Bailey

Summary-

Brent Mason and Hayden Winstead can't stand each other. She plans exclusive parties for her rich familys charities. He's a rough and tumble cop who rigs explosives for a living. Could two people be any less suited for conversation? They think not and prefer to keep it that way.

Unfortunately, their two best friends are deeply, disgustingly in love. Forced together, the mutual attraction simmering beneath the surface of Brent and Hayden's non-relationship grows with every argument until it explodes into a scintillating night of mind-blowing sex. And it wont be the last, as far as Brent's concerned.

Hayden has a secret, though. Her father's company is relying on a merger to save them from financial ruin, and only Hayden's marriage to the CEOs wealthy son can secure the deal. If she's to protect her family, she'll have to forget Brent. And he has no intention of being forgotten.

Review-

Tessa Bailey has done it again! Asking for Trouble was my most anticipated book in the series cause with all that chemistry I really wanted to know Brent and Hayden's story. It was AMAZING! I loved it. Asking For Trouble had everything in it. It made for a fun read which I thoroughly devoured.

Brent and Hayden are poles apart and they cannot stand each other. Brent is a cop who likes to blow things up. Whereas, Hayden comes from a rich family where she plans exclusive parties. The two couldn't be more different and they know it. You can see tension when Hayden and Brent are in the same room. They fight, they argue and somehow they make it look hot.

Like we'd seen in the last book, Story and Daniel are Hayden and Brent's best friends so they always end up in each others company. When Brent and Hayden finally decide to let the steam out and get each other out of their systems, things get complicated. Both Brent and Hayden have so much more going on with them than what they show on the surface and each discovers that.

I loved the romance. Brent was possessive and he made no excuses for it. Hayden was vulnerable in her own ways but when she's with Brent things balance themselves out. Brent is one of the best dirty talking heroes. The intimate scenes between them were HOT. There are no other words to describe the intensity with which these two go at each other. I loved the banter.

With Story and Daniel we also get to see the mysterious and silent, Matt. I really he hopes he gets a story because he's not spilling anything. The ending was again, amazing. It was hilarious and it couldn't be more perfect for Brent and Hayden. Tessa Bailey has now officially become one of my favorite authors and you should definitely read Asking for Trouble.

Blog Tour- Review + Giveaway Officer Off Limits by Tessa Bailey

Summary-

His need to possess her is non-negotiable.

Story Brooks’ fiancé just called off their wedding two weeks before the happy day. As if that isn't bad enough, her semi-estranged father, an infamous NYPD hostage negotiator, has suffered a heart attack. Not wanting to examine her lack of emotion over the broken engagement, she hops on a plane to reconnect with her father before it’s too late.

Playboy hostage negotiator Daniel Chase has never, not once, been refused by a woman, so when a debate over hospital snack foods with a delectable kindergarten teacher ends in flat-out rejection, he makes it his mission to seduce her. His only obstacle? She’s the daughter of his mentor who implicitly forbade Daniel from pursuing her.

Despite her father’s warnings and Daniel’s troubled past, Daniel and Story can’t resist their intense attraction to one another. But when the reason for her fiancé’s abrupt wedding cancellation comes to light, can Story and Daniel's already forbidden relationship survive?

Review-

Officer Off Limits is the third book in Tessa Bailey's Line Of Duty series. The previous two books in the series are Protecting What's His and His Risk To Take but Officer Off Limits can easily be read as a stand alone novel. I had thoroughly enjoyed the previous two books and I enjoyed Officer Off Limits just as much. They make up for steamy books which just make you wanna curl up and read.

Officer Off Limits starts off with Story Brooks' fiance calling off their wedding. She is sad and heartbroken. Just when she thinks things couldn't get worse she gets a call notifying her that her dad has suffered a heart attack. So Story hops on a plane and goes to her father. What I love about Tessa Bailey's books are the feisty heroines. Story is strong and determined. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and that's what I loved about her.

Then we have playboy hostage negotiator Daniel Chase. When he meets Story Brooks, who just happens to be his mentor's daughter and totally off limits he is completely smitten away. He's pulled in by her innocence and vulnerability. Daniel, who has always prided himself on his control cannot control himself where Story is concerned. All the rational thinking goes right out the window. It was amazing to see how passionate Daniel was.

When Story and Daniel meet there is an instant spark of attraction. There is what you would call insta love but it is so well portrayed that the whole situation seems actually believable. Tessa Bailey always writes hot intimate scenes. Hot is an understatement actually. I devoured the chemistry between Daniel and Story. The witty conversations, the dialogues, the banter made the book unputdownable.

I loved Matt and Brent and I hope each one of them gets a book. Especially Brent, I hope he ends up with whom I think he'll end up with. Officer Off Limits made me swoon, laugh, sigh and left me happily grinning by the end of it. Tessa Bailey is an amazing author who knows how to reel you into her stories. I would definitely recommend picking up Officer Off Limits or any of the Line Of Duty novels if you're a romance fan.

The greater the risk, the hotter the reward…

But there’s a connection between Ruby’s shadowed past and a case Troy’s working involving a notorious Brooklyn felon, throwing her safety into jeopardy. Confronted with his biggest fear, will Troy push Ruby away to keep her safe or fight to keep her in his arms where she belongs

Review-

His Risk To Take is the second book in the Line Of Duty series by Tessa Bailey. You can find my review of the first book, Protecting What's His here. I had really enjoyed reading Protecting What's His and so I was pretty excited to start His Risk To Take. It certainly did not disappoint me.

Troy Bennett has moved from Chicago PD after his daredevil partner gets killed during a raid. He never again wants to be responsible for the life of a loved one and he doesn't trust himself with it. But his transfer to NYPD brings him up close and personal to Ruby Elliott. I loved Troy. He was fiercely protective and dominant. His possessiveness of Ruby since the first moment he sees her was swoon worthy. Ruby was all that he wanted to avoid again but he can't help but be reeled in by her.

Ruby Elliott is a pool hustler. She is reckless and stubborn. I really liked how she wanted to leave her past behind and start afresh. She was determined to make things right in her life. Ruby's way of thinking in situations was completely different than that of Troy but their end game was the same. But when Ruby's life is in jeopardy because of a case Troy is working on he leaves no stone unturned to protect her.

Troy and Ruby had sizzling chemistry since the first moment they meet. And before you know it they're burning up the sheets. The intimate scenes could only be described as hot. His Risk To Take definitely fits in the insta love category but it was really well portrayed, making it believable. Troy and Ruby challenge each other. In spite of what each of them has been through they understand each other and just want to protect each other from harm.

I loved how they stood up for their individual beliefs. Troy and Ruby were both stubborn so when they finally came together it was amazing. Of course a little grovelling from the hero never hurt. Tessa Bailey manages to pull off another short and sexy read which leaves you grinning. If you're a fan of sexy contemporary romances this one should be a definite read.
