Review-

I really enjoy Lauren Layne books and New York's Finest series is one which I have liked, though not as much as her Stiletto's series. Cuff Me is the third and the final book in this series and this is Vincent and Jill's book. Vincent and Jill's story has been brewing since the first book itself if I am not mistaken and this was a big FINALLY happening for them. I cannot say that Cuff Me was my favourite book in the series but it was still quite a good read.

Let's start with Vincent. Vincent is one of the middle brothers in the Moretti brothers. He has always been quiet and most of the times he comes off as rude. I liked Vincent but I was really unsure as to why he was not as confident in his feelings towards Jill. I thought he was dense when EVERYONE around could see that Jill and he were meant to be. 

Same was the case with Jill. For being such a smart cop she was really dense when it came to her feelings for Vincent. Her heart was saying one thing and her mind was saying another. For being such a bubbly and affectionate person she held herself back from Vincent for no apparent reason and then tried to find something else with someone else.

I liked that Cuff Me has a sort of suspense going on in the background. Jill and Vincent are solving the murder of a renowned actress and though the mystery wasn't anything great it kept the story moving forward. Jill and Vincent's romance is slow burn max almost to the point of being get-together-already. But they finally do manage to get their shit together.

I definitely enjoyed seeing the previous couples from the series in Cuff Me. All the scenes with the entire Moretti clan are always hilarious. The love and understand each other and it is easy to see. We also get to meet the elusive Marco in this book and I loved Elena to pieces. I'm not sure if either one of them is getting their own book because they certainly deserve one but I do hope so. Cuff Me was a nice read overall.

Review-

It has taken me very little time to become a huge Lauren Layne fan and I am steadily devouring her various series. Frisk Me is the first book in Lauren Layne's New York's Finest series. It is quite a bit different from her Sex, Love and Stilettos series but it is obviously a contemporary romance. While I did not love the romance itself in this book I really enjoyed the story as a whole.

Officer Luc Moretti has been termed as a hero because of his actions. Now he has Ava and he team doing a special on him and the NYPD on national television. I liked Luc. He was actually very frustrated being tagged the hero. He lived with the guilt of losing his partner and not being able to save a little girl. He just wanted to do his work peacefully but Ava definitely had other plans.

Ava is our heroine. She has lived her entire life under the pressure of her parents and siblings. She thinks that doing the TV special on Luc and the NYPD is her chance to shine and get up the ladder. I liked Ava but she was not one of my favourite heroines. She was trying hard to be someone her family expected but Luc helps her find herself.

Ava and Luc definitely start off their relationship with a lot of arguments. They have no choice but to work with each other but soon they start understanding the other person behind the facade. I liked Luc and Ava's romance. Lauren Layne definitely knows how to translate chemistry on paper and it was easy to see it between Luc and Ava.

But what I loved the most in Frisk Me is the whole Moretti clan. I loved how unapologetic each one was about interfering in the other's personal life. They were a strong family who protected their members. I especially liked Nonna and I'm looking forward to Anthony's story next. Frisk Me was a good read.

Review- Steal Me by Lauren Layne

Summary-

Review-

While I had liked Frisk Me I hadn't loved it. I wasn't sure I was going to love Steal Me as well but Lauren Layne completely reeled me in with this book. I didn't expect to like both Anthony and Maggie as much as I did and I think that is what mad me love the entire book even more.

Let's start with Anthony. Anthony Moretti is the oldest son and he's recently become a Captain. Coming from a cop family he's always had his professional goals very clear in his head. He's a firm believer that a cop can't be a good cop and a good boyfriend. But he starts questioning all this when he meets Maggie. I loved Anthony. He was so protective of his entire family. He wanted to help Maggie out but he couldn't give her everything she deserved.

Then we have Maggie. Maggie was a sweet heart. She's had a hard childhood. Her alcoholic father and younger brother still mooch off money from her even when she can barely get by herself. Maggie's ex was an asshole and now all Maggie wants to do is work hard on her dream of becoming a published author. I loved Maggie. She had a genuinely good heart and was perfect for Anth.

Anthony and Maggie shared amazing chemistry. I loved how open and forgiving Maggie was. Anthony tries hard to keep his emotions away from all things Maggie but he can't help himself. All he wants to do is protect her from the world and give her everything she wants. I really enjoyed how Maggie and Anth's story went. They deserved each other.

I also loved seeing all the Morettis. Nonna was hilarious and I especially love the relationship all the siblings share. I am so curious to see what is brewing between Vincent and Jill. I can't wait for their story. If you love your romance with a bit of action and a big Italian family, Steal Me is the read for you.
