Summary-

Review-

I had really enjoyed myself when I read Lauren Layne's Sex, Love and Stiletto series. Irresistibly Yours is the first in the spin off series to that known as the Oxford series. I have been devouring Lauren Layne's books this year and I am happy to say that this book was just as good as her other ones. Lauren Layne has a way of writing really amazing characters.

Let's start with Cole Sharpe. Cole has been freelancing for Oxford for years but now he's ready to settle for something permanent. The only thing is he has competition for the job. None other than Penelope Pope. I really loved Cole. He was just as great as he was before in all the previous books. Cole was smart and sensible. He was hesitant about a relationship because he wanted to focus on taking care of his brother.

Then we have Penelope. Penelope is a tomboy and she loves sports. Working for Oxford is something she very much needs in her life. Penelope was truly one of the sweetest heroines I've read about till date. She is straight forward, doesn't play games and cares very much about Cole. Penelope wants to settle in the city and her passion for sports is evident. But I also liked her softer side and her vulnerabilities.

Penelope and Cole were so great together. Their love of all things sports just made them more perfect for each other. I loved how Cole helped Penelope regain her confidence and I loved how Penelope didn't give up on Cole. Their relationship went at a good pace with lots of banter.

I also loved that we got to see the Stiletto cast and the remaining Oxford guys. I am SO curious to see what Lincoln's story is but I know we have a long wait ahead of us. I really enjoy the banter that goes on between the Oxford guys. All of them are hilarious. If you enjoy fun contemporary romances I suggest giving Lauren Layne's books a shot.

REVIEW:

After reading almost half a dozen books by David Levithan, I can finally identify and make out the author's writing style. Every book he writes is so unique, creative and astounding that it seems like it's a different person writing each time. Every Day was no exception. Once again, David Levithan has proved that he is the most brilliant contemporary writer of our times. And this time, he has shown that he is brilliant even when he deviates from contemporaries. He doesn't just write. He creates magic. Author Jodi Picoult is so right in her blurb for the book where she says that she didn't just read Every Day- she inhaled it. 

A book like Every Day is difficult to explain. It's easy to read. Easy to understand. Easy to follow Easy to live. But very difficult to explain. Reading this book was an experience that I wish to experience every time I read a book, but that's not possible. Because the magic that David Levithan creates is unparalleled and unbelievable. He goes so deep in the head of his characters that they start to seem more real than the author himself. He doesn't just create characters- he becomes them, and in becoming them, he takes the reader along and the reader becomes the character too. And that is truly special. 

I don't want to say that I was lost in Every Day. I want to say that I was found in it. I was left speechless by the end of it, and all I managed to get out was a silent but heartfelt wow once I closed it. It was so special and interesting to read about a new individual, a new personality, a new body, a new life but the same head. Every time. It never ceased to amaze me how intimate and magical it was. I thought I was reading this book because it as so well written and so well made, and it was only after I was done reading it that I realised that there's so much more to it than just that. It's a book that connects and touches people because one of the lives portrayed in the book could very well be the reader's life.

REVIEW:

The edition of Every Day that I read came with Six Days Earlier, a prequel that has six chapters. I read the prequel before starting the book, so it gave me a glimpse into Every Day and the very unique and special life of A. It also helped me in knowing what was in store for me in the first book of the series. While on the one hand, Six Days Earlier was really nice; on the other hand, I do believe that it was slightly unnecessary, especially if I were to read it after Every Day, because the first time was sufficient. More than sufficient, it was enough. And it was breathtaking in every way possible. Giving me six chapters is great- I'll take it, but I'd rather start from Day 1 and never stop reading about A, because he is that intriguing, exciting, special, magical and unique. To sum it all up, if you are giving me more, I want everything, David Levithan; and not just peeks, I want the whole damn life of A.

Here's my list:

1) Read at least three books per week, because that is manageable. 

2) Let there be at least one book of my own choice each week. 

3) Not stress about review books. I will get there eventually and if I don't, no big deal. 

4) Try and get back to reading French books! 

5) Try and read at least one classic every two or three months. 

6) Get back on track and complete 100 books in the year. 

7) Be as consistent as possible with the above three resolutions. 

8) Concentrate and focus more on the blog. 

9) While achieving #5, again, don't stress too much. If Blogger doesn't want to agree with me, let it go. 

10) Keep calm and read on.

Review-

The one thing I've learned after reading The Bollywood Bride by Sonali Dev is that when a favourite author of yours recommends a read you should get to it stat. I only picked this one up out of curiosity and because Nalini Singh recommended it. I love it when book surprise me in an awesome way and The Bollywood Bride just hit all the right notes for the romance reader in me.

This is the story of Ria. Though the book goes in third person's pov it is completely Ria story but that doesn't mean that we don't get to see our hero's emotions too. Let's start with Ria. Ria is a very popular Bollywood actress. She goes back to Chicago for her dear cousin's wedding but that also means that she has to face Vikram, her first and only love.

I loved Ria. She was such a complex heroine. She tries being the Ice Queen people see her to be but there is a huge turmoil of emotions inside of her. Ria has secrets and she has a past she doesn't want anyone to know about but try as she may she can't hide from Vikram. Vikram seems almost cruel in the beginning but heis trying to cope the only way he knows how. Vikram made for a great hero and I loved how he loved Ria.

The Bollywood Bride is not a fluffy romance by any chance. The book is full of angst and emotions and still it never feels like its overdone or that there is any unnecessary drama. I loved the chemistry Vikram and Ria shared. They were entwined with each other so deep. I also loved Ria's entire family, especially Uma and Nikhil.

Another thing which I loved about the Bollywood Bride was how authentic Nikhil's Indian wedding was. I have read very few books which go into such details with the traditions and the ceremonies. I felt right at home reading it because that is what we genuinely do here in India. If you hadn't guessed already, I've become a huge Sonali Dev fan and I am so looking forward to reading more from her.
