Review-

I had wanted to read His Monsoon Bride since quite some time. When I was finally able to get a copy of this one I got right to it. His Monsoon Bride turned out to be quite a cute read. It was very typical where Mills and Boon books are concerned but sometimes typical can be comforting and this one was a nice romance. 

Amrita is our heroine. She is the daughter of who was once the rich owner of Piramal Industries. Unfortunately now, her father is in debt and the way for her family to get out of it is to marry Mehtab. I really liked Amrita as a heroine. She was a sweet and an independent woman who only wanted to be loved for who she was. The constant comparison she faced with her famous deceased mother, the insecurities she sometimes had and the vulnerabilities she showed made her very easy to relate to.

Then we have Mehtab. He was a little bit of a stereotype where Mills and Boon heroes are concerned. Arrogant, handsome and wealthy beyond compare. But we do get to see his side of the story too and though I wish we got more of him, whatever we did get was good. He was genuinely attracted to Amrita and though he didn't know how to be in a relationship, he tried his hardest.

Amrita and Mehtab shared great chemistry. I loved all their conversations. They were witty and quick. They did have a few silly misunderstandings but that was fine. Amrita and Mehtab made a really nice couple. I was also pleasantly surprised at the epilogue. It added a great touch to the story while giving a glimpse into the future and just something a little extra for romance lovers. His Monsoon Bride was a good, quick read.

Review- Confess by Colleen Hoover

REVIEW:

Even though I was pretty apprehensive about reading Confess as I have had both positive and negative experiences with Colleen Hoover previously, I was quite excited to read the book after following all the teasers the author was sharing on her social media. Confess started out as really cute read, then went onto to become too much of a drama, but ended on the sweetest note. So all in all, this was a good read that I enjoyed. 

Confess is a typical Colleen Hoover book which is generally comprised of the wonderful combination of friendship, family, love, issues and problems and most importantly, characters who show human nature as being good or bad, which isn't necessarily a good division to make all the time. As our main characters, we have Auburn as the female lead, who was really sweet and showed immense character development by the time the book ended. There were times when she was extremely vulnerable and the fact that she didn't stand up for herself irritated me, but her situation was always explained. 

Then there is Owen, who was just as sweet as Auburn, but I did feel that he was way too good to be true. He came with his own guilt baggage, but never once did he make his situation seem more important than that of those around him, which was good. There were also two other guys who played an important role in the book, and they were Adam and Trey. Adam was the hero of the book for me, and Trey was way too dumb to ever get his way. 

Coming to the chemistry between Auburn and Owen, it was quite good and I liked how they both had bigger problems than what they seemed to be showing. Although the instalove between them had me questioning the whole relationship and their secrets were too big to be hidden, they made for a good couple. It's just that we didn't get to see them actually sit down together and discuss their problems. Everything was kind of in the air and left to find it's own way. 

Overall, as I said before, Confess was a cute read that did have some downs. But just for the fact that this one didn't annoy me like the previous few books by Colleen Hoover, I feel that it stands out as a good read. Not as good as the first half a dozen books by the author, but still, quite good.

Review-

I love Nalini Singh and I enjoy every single book she writes. Rock Hard is the second full length novel in her Rock Kiss series books. This is the story of Charlotte and Gabe. Charlotte is Molly's best friend whom we'd met in the first book. Technically Gabe and Charlie's story starts off in the same time line as Rock Addiction and then moves forward. I liked Rock Hard.

Gabe is an ex-rugby player and currently a wealthy business man who helps companies which are drowning. When Gabe becomes Charlotte's new boss things start to get interesting. I really loved Gabe. He was a bear of a man who went after what he wanted. I loved that he was so gentle with Charlotte always putting her feelings first. His patience was outstanding and I just adored him all the more for it.

Then we have Charlie. Charlie is a mouse and that is the best way to describe how she is in the beginning of the book. Charlie has been emotionally scarred and she just can't seem to lower her guard. Especially around Gabe. I liked Charlie and as we get to see what happened with her it is understandable how deep her fear goes. 

Charlie and Gabe definitely had an attraction but both of them are very slow to act on it. This book definitely is a slow burn romance and I feel that any other kind would just not have been appropriate for Charlie. I loved the conversations Charlie and Gabe shared. They both don't change and get over their issues in a minute but take their own time.

I also loved Gabe's family. They all with appearances of Molly made for a great cast of characters. The only thing to be noted for this books is that it is a lengthy one. But I don't mind long books when its Nalini Singh and the long wait for Charlie and Gabe to get together was definitely worth it. I did miss the band members though. Rock Hard was a good read.
