REVIEW:

Nothing can help me describe this book more than the following three words- I loved it. 

God. Abbi Glines is fantabulous. And her amazing, amazing boy Rush Finlay is storming. 
Forever Too Far is the third and the final book in Abbi Glines' Too Far series. There aren't any spoilers in this book as such, but I would suggest reading the first two books of the series and Della and Woods' book, Twisted Perfection before getting to Forever Too Far. Janhvi's and my reviews of book #1 Fallen Too Far and book #2 Never Too Far can be read here and here respectively. 

Forever Too Far starts off with a pregnant Blaire and her fiance Rush having made a wonderful life in Rosemary. They are engaged and are planning to get married soon. 

Those of us who know how Abbi Glines works know that plain and simple isn't her way. Things have to be messed up and the same happens in this book as well. There is a lot, and by a lot, I really mean A LOT of family drama from Rush's side and there's also a very sweet family gathering/ reunion from Blaire's side. 

Keeping the whole family situation aside, because a lot can be said about it but there's a lot more I have to say about Blaire and Rush, so the family can stay aside.  

Blaire was her simple and sweet self and I really like her innocence, contrary to many readers. She is genuinely good and is a perfect match for Rush. 

Blaire and Rush were simply perfect. They faced a lot of problems and I loved seeing how Rush begged and pleaded. It was a sight worth swooning over. 

Now onto Rush. Boy, he was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. He is just sickeningly sweet and romantic. His lines are worth aw-ing a thousand times over. His caveman instincts and possessiveness were sexy and adorable at the same time. I loved seeing the fatherly side of Rush. Man. The man is married but my Rush Crush will never die. 

The way Forever Too Far ended, with Blaire and Rush's little baby boy in their hands and their life, was beautiful. So far, this year has been all about wrapping up beautiful New Adult stories of our day and age. They've all been amazing and Forever Too Far was no exception. Overall, Forever Too Far was a fabulous end to Blaire and Rush's story.

Review- Romi and Gang by Tushar Raheja

Summary-

Review-

Romi and Gang is clearly not the type of book which I usually read. Being a romance junkie and a sucker for happily ever after endings this book does not fit into the genre which I go for. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I actually enjoyed the book when it clearly lacks both the former mentioned elements I look for in books.

Romi and Gang is a book about Romi and his friends as the title suggests. Romi, Sunny, Sukhi and Golu are thirteen year old best friends with a passion for anything and everything cricket. They have high dreams of becoming successful cricketers one day and we get a short glimpse into their journey. They live in a small town called Mauji.

I really liked Romi and his friends. They were a typical bunch of boys always up to some mischief. Playing in the maidan seems to be the high light of their life and there's a beauty in seeing the happiness they gain from such small innocent things. Romi was a good kid. He was smart and determined to play with everything he had in him. Willing to admit his mistakes to others just made me like him more.

Romi and Gang moves forward with a series of incidents which take place in their school. We also get a glimpse into the happenings of each boy's home. And all through this there is cricket. I am a cricket fan so seeing how well detailed the book was I liked it.

Also, the book is filled with illustrations. No, they aren't the kiddie type, more like sketches which depict a scene which is going on in the book. They were really good and just helped with my imagination of the boys. Romi and Gang was a nice read and a much needed change from my regular reads. It is definitely for the younger crowd and can be read by anyone and everyone.

It's no surprise that I love mind boggling, disturbing and messed up books. The more messed up, the better, is the principle I go by while picking a book to read. It's also no surprise that I adore abrupt and cliff hanger endings. But let me tell you that author Lori L. Clark has a way of making me think twice about liking such things which makes me like it even more. Confusing and complicated much? Well, that's how it goes. 
I read the author Lori L. Clark's book, Different Roads long time back and I still go back to it at times thinking about the sheer shocking ending of it. But yes, like I said, the more shocking the better, so I loved it. You can read my review of the book here. So when I got an email from the author about her next book, I jumped at the opportunity to read an e-ARC. 
I must admit that when I started with I Breathe You  I wanted to close it and put off reading it. It really saddens me that I thought of giving up on it. I was barely two chapters in and had no idea what to think because I hardly understood where the story was headed and what sense it made. The determined person that I am, I couldn't give up and oh boy, I am glad I didn't. 
Rhane Evans and her boyfriend Dalton are musicians in a band called Fate's Crazy and an accident one night leaves Rhane (I LOVE her name) without the two things she loves most. Dalton is dead and so is her voice. She cannot speak above a whisper. 
I loved Rhane as a protagonist. While one would expect her to cry over the past and think of the what ifs and buts of the situation, Rhane, unlike many female protagonists out there, doesn't spend the rest of her life mourning. She takes each day as it comes and she heals and helps herself. I loved seeing a female protagonist with anger issues and a slightly crazy but totally amazing personality. Rhane goes out for therapy and anger management classes, dyes her hair a new colour each time, chit chats with her care taker Gwen, goes out to hang out with her uncle T at the bar, makes a friend at the classes, helps out puppy dogs in her front yard, writes music and even finds love again in Ian Callahan. 
Unlike Different Roads, I Breathe You, while shocking and disturbing, came with it's share of funny and light moments and lots of cheers and a positive outlook thanks to the presence of an amazing family and friends who, as characters, shone out throughout the length of the novel, alongside Rhane. 
I really wish there had been a little bit more about Rhane's band and her relationship with Dalton. That whole thing got over really soon and was ended before it even began. 
Author Lori L. Clark's writing is simple, easy to comprehend and very very dazzling. I really loved I Breathe You. It was an amazing and sparkling read that sucked me in it's core and is going to stick with me for a long time to come.

EXCERPT #1:

"You plan on helping me unload this thing or are you just going to bob up and down like a damn goof?" I try to punch him in the shoulder playfully but his long fingers snake around my wrist before I'm able to connect. He smirks. "Careful there, Sunshine. Don't hurt yourself."

I roll my eyes at the new nickname he's recently begun calling me. Sunshine. Rhane. Get it?

"I'm teasing. This thing probably weighs twice as much as you," as he hoists himself effortlessly up into the bed and unhooks the tailgate straps allowing it to swing freely. He pulls out two boards and sets them at an angle from the truck to the ground, creating a crude ramp of sorts.

I watch him pull on a pair of worn leather gloves and he goes to work feeding a rope through the eyelets of two large hooks threaded into the back of the doghouse. I breathe into my hands, trying to warm the fingertips left bare by my own pitiful gloves.

His eyes flicker to my hands. "When you going to get yourself some real damn gloves anyway?"

I give him a middle finger salute and childishly stick out my tongue. "Shut up," I huff.

He turns his back to me, and his shoulders shake in silent laughter. "Feisty," he mutters. My eyes slowly slide down from his broad upper back before locking on the way his tight jeans accentuate the firmness of his fine ass. I start to warm up and nerve endings all over my lower half ignite. My cheeks blossom into what I'm sure must be a brilliant scarlet.

He glances at me, doing a double take, "You cold?"

I crinkle my nose and shake my head. Hopeful he can't read just how un-cold I really am. "No why?"

"Your cheeks are red," he pulls the rope taut and threads it through the pickup bed. "You must be cold. Either that, or you're blushing." That left cheek dimple reappears, and I wonder if he's flirting with me.

I think he's figured out that he flusters the hell out of me. He's sort of cocky that way. Unfortunately for me, I've always had a thing for cocky, self-assured, slightly egotistical men. Who wants boring, when you can have a bad ass? Especially the ones everyone says to stay away from.

EXCERPT #2:

Gwen announces that it's time to eat and we make our way to the kitchen with T leading the way. I stiffen momentarily when Ian's fingertips rest gently against my lower back but soon relax beneath his reassuring touch as he guides me forward.

Several times during dinner, I sense Ian's eyes on me, and I glance up. The first couple of times, I quickly avert my gaze to the plate in front of me. But now, a glass and a half of wine later, it's getting harder to shift my attention elsewhere. He watches me through hooded eyes, and I refuse to look away. I reach for my wine and swirl the liquid slowly around in the goblet. I take a long swallow and slowly run my tongue around the perimeter of my tingling lips, teasing him. His eyes darken and the corner of his mouth tips into a half smirk.

After we eat, I stand, offering to help Gwen clear the table. Shockwaves of electricity jolt down the center of my back when Ian steps behind me and whispers into my ear. "Thank God you weren't eating a banana or I might have had to excuse myself from the dinner table for a few minutes." I draw my lips between my teeth to keep a mad case of giggles from erupting.

"I'll go bring in some wood for the fire," Ian offers. Under his breath he mutters low enough only for me to hear, "It'll be the closest thing to a cold shower I can get away with right now."

"Do you want me to help?" I whisper playfully.

"No. You’ve done more than enough already," he shakes his head. Gwen arches an eyebrow at his remark. I understand the meaning behind his words and grin. He shrugs and walks outside with a huge smile on his face.

 How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

My answer:

I usually do power through books and finish them off even if I don't like them. I can think of only 2 books which I have DNFd till date out of the 400+ books I've read. So, yeah, I complete them as quickly as possible and forget about them and hope for a better read the next time :)

Review- Frigid by J.Lynn

Summary-

For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Review-

I had been waiting to read Frigid since a long time. I had really liked the teasers Jen had posted and I was eager to know Kyler and Sydney's story. It was a classic friends to lovers story but I can enjoy anything with romance in it so I was pretty excited to get started with Frigid. Sadly, I was completely disappointed.

Frigid starts off with Sydney mooing over Kyler in a bar. Kyler has some other beautiful girl on his lap as usual whom he intends to take home with him. This seems to be a recurring pattern in their life and they still supposedly remain best friends. I liked Sydney. I thought she was nice and sweet but she was surprisingly stupid where Kyler was concerned. The way she threw herself at him time and time again when he horribly rejected her made me feel like she lacked dignity.

Then we have Kyler. I really really didn't like him. We actually get his point of view, sparse at it was but still I didn't like him. He was a dumb guy who wanted to keep Sydney tied to him while he did as he pleased with all the other girls. He lacked depth to his character and his actions were the complete opposite to his thoughts, what little he had anyway.

When Sydney and Kyler get stranded at a posh ski resort they are forced to face their feelings for each other. I thought only Sydney was the one with feelings where as Kyler just kept on saying one stupid thing after another and hurting Sydney. Then all of a sudden he thinks he's in love with her. I found it hard to believe. He's a jerk and not the kind you like.

The whole book just goes on between Sydney and Kyler as they're stuck alone on the resort. That made it kinda boring after a while because I was getting irritated by the both of them. All their arguments and misunderstandings were point less. There is a slight mystery which has been tried but it was quite useless and super easy to figure out. Though I did like the tiny parts with Andrea and Tanner, their friends. I expected more from Frigid but it kinda sucked for me.
