Summary-

Scandal. Wealth. Power. Seduction. Welcome to the world of the O'Malleys.

Ex-cop Charlotte Finch used to think there was a clear line between right and wrong. Then her fellow officers betrayed her, and the world is no longer so black and white. Aiden can't afford to let anyone see the man behind the mask. To run the O'Malley empire, he has to be cool and controlled at all times. But the moment he meets Charlie, they're playing with fire. Review-

Undercover Attraction by Katee Robert is the fifth book in the O'Malley series. I have been following this series right from the beginning and I have to say that I am invested in most of the characters and their lives. This series follows the O'Malley siblings as they navigate through their love lives while keeping a hold on their empire. The O'Malleys are basically a crime family who are trying their best not to lose control of Boston.

Undercover Attraction follows the story of Aiden and Charlie. Aiden is the head of the O'Malley empire. He is now the head of the family and has to make decisions which suit the family best. We'd met Aiden in the previous books and he totally came off as uncaring. But here we get to see that the stoicism is just a facade. He is trying to make the best out of a horrible situation but he knows he is putting a strain on the bonds with his siblings. While Aiden was not my favourite, I understood him more clearly in this book.

Then we have Charlie. Charlie is an ex-cop. She was betrayed by he fellow officers and now even her father doesn't believe in her/ When Aiden comes up with a proposal which has Charlie pretending to be his fiance she is surprised to say the least. But Charlie has her own motives. I liked Charlie. She was a strong woman and she knew what she was doing. She actually saw beneath Aiden's mask and she couldn't help but fall for him.

Charlie and Aiden's relationship starts off as a business relationship but there is no denying the attraction between them. I liked how honest they were with each other and there was no unnecessary coyness. They were both responsible adults who wanted to take care of their family and loved ones.

I also really liked how Charlie made an effort to reach out to Aiden's siblings to repair his relationship with them. I loved seeing all the previous couples and how they were doing. This book also moves Keira and Dimitri's plot forward and I am really looking forward to their book. More than I expected at first. Undercover Attraction was a good read for me.

Review-

Forbidden Promises is the fourth book in the O'Malleys series. I have been following this series from the beginning and though its not like I love this series to bits and pieces, I do enjoy it from time to time. Some books have definitely been more likable for me than others. I think I'm gonna have to put Forbidden Promises in the less liked category. It was a slightly above average read for me.

This is Jude and Sloan's story. We'd met Sloan in the previous books and she has always been the timid and shy sister amongst the O'Malleys. At first, I thought I would like Sloan and I did but not as much as I thought I would. It was because as soon as she met Jude its like she had a total personality change. At the rate at which these changes happened were so damn quick that it was very unbelievable for me.

Then we have Jude. Jude is actually a hit man. His quest in life has been for revenge against the Sheridans because they practically destroyed his family. When Jude meets Sloan he knows she's hiding things. Soon he finds what her connection is to the Boston families but by then its too late. He's already fallen for her. I liked that Jude was protective of Sloan but other than that I didn't find anything super special about him.

Sloan and Jude made for an unlikely pair. They were complete opposites on paper and their personalities. I usually love that but I didn't see the connection between these two here. There is no friends to lovers or taking their time. Everything happens within a week and soon they are on the run from their enemies. I found this really hard to believe and that decreased my enjoyment of the book.

We also get glimpses of the remaining O'Malley siblings and I'm looking forward to Aiden's book next. Dmitri Romanov is an interesting character and there is definitely something brewing between Keira and him. I have a feeling they'll get a book sooner or later. Forbidden Promises has action and people trying to get their own way but somehow it didn't really click for me. This was an okay read.

Review- An Indecent Proposal by Katee Robert

Summary-

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert continues her smoking-hot series about the O'Malleys-wealthy, powerful, and full of scandalous family secrets.

Greed. Ambition. Violence. Those are the "values" Olivia Rashidi learned from her Russian mob family-and the values she must leave behind for the sake of her daughter. When she meets Cillian O'Malley, she recognizes the red flag of his family name . . . yet she still can't stop herself from seeing the smoldering, tortured man. To save her family, Olivia sets out to discover Cillian's own secrets, but the real revelation is how fast-and how hard-she's falling for him.

Plagued by a violent past, Cillian is more vulnerable than anyone realizes. Anyone except Olivia, whose beauty, compassion, and pride have him at "hello," even if she's more inclined to say good-bye to an O'Malley. While his proposal of sex with no strings seems simple, what he feels for her isn't, especially after he learns that she belongs to a rival crime family. Cillian knows that there is no escape from the life, but Olivia may be worth trying-and dying-for . . .

Review-

An Indecent Proposal by Katee Robert is the third book in her O'Malley series. Though I don't necessarily think it is needed to read the first two books in the series as each can be read as a stand alones, you do get a back ground of what's going on if you have read the previous books. We also to get to see characters from the previous books so that is always there. For me, I think An Indecent Proposal was the weakest book in the series to date. It was not bad by any means but I just couldn't get into it quickly.

This is the story of Cillian. Cillian has been the most affected by the death of the youngest sibling in the O'Malley family. No one realizes how much he is suffering or at what a vulnerable state he is currently in. The only solace Cillian finds is when he is at the bar -not drinking- but with Olivia. I liked Cillian. He had accepted the position in the O'Malley family and was finally taking responsibility for his actions. The only one who saw that clearly was Olivia.

Olivia Rashidi has had a horrible past. She wants nothing to do with the O'Malley family or with anyone actually. She wants a peaceful life for her daughter and she is working hard to achieve it. Olivia was not an easy heroine to like at first. She stays away from Cillian for obvious reasons but there are a lot of mixed signals going on. But I liked how she cared for Cillian.

Katee Robert definitely knows how to write romance but I didn't find the chemistry between Olivia and Cillian to be as intense as the previous couples in the series. I know, I probably shouldn't be comparing because each couple is different but I can't help it. I just wanted a few more solid conversations between the two of them to make it more believable.

I also wished we'd gotten to see more of the bond Olivia's daughter, Hadley and Cillian formed. We definitely didn't get enough of that cuteness. We do get to meet the remainder of the O'Malley clan in this book. I am especially curious to see how Sloan's story will go as that thread has already begun to unravel. I also desperately want happy endings for Aiden and Keira. They deserve it. All in all An Indecent Proposal was an okay read.

Review- The Wedding Pact by Katee Robert

Summary-

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert continues her smoking-hot series about the O'Malleys—wealthy, powerful, and full of scandalous family secrets.

Carrigan O'Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she's ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.

Hallorans vs. O'Malleys—that's how it's always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family's empire instead of how silky Carrigan's skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he'll be if he can't get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

Review-

The Wedding Pact is the second book in the O'Malley series by Katee Roberts. The first book in the series, The Marriage Contract was actually a book I found to be just about okay. But I was really looking forward to The Wedding Pact which is Carrigan and James' story as the sparks were flying between them since the last book itself.

To give you just a bit of a background, Carrigan and James come from two opposing families who run the family business not always by legal means in Boston. They know they can never be together yet it is only when they are together that they feel safe. They can always just be themselves, away from the family pressure and the harsh reality for sometime.

I liked Carrigan, our heroine. She has always been a strong character with a vulnerable side. She wants to show her father that she can help him out so much but he only sees her as a object to expand the business. I loved how strong willed Carrigan was and she always tried to do the right thing by her family. I loved the relationship she shared with her siblings as well.

James was actually a really perfect hero. He didn't have any faults that I could make out. He felt guilty for the sins his family had committed and for the things he himself had to do to run the business. His only selfish need was for Carrigan and even though he knows they can't be together he doesn't want to let her go. All in all I loved James.

The chemistry between James and Carrigan was amazing and I was always rooting for them to be together. I also enjoyed how we get to see the start of Cillian's story which is next. I enjoyed meeting the rest of the O'Malley family and I sincerely hope that each and every single one of them gets a happy ending because they deserve it. If you enjoy forbidden romances of any kind you should give The Wedding Pact a try.
