Review- Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo

Summary-

She’ll gamble her heart on the best friend she left behind…

One lucky break is all struggling actress Sidney Williams needs. But when living the LA life becomes too much, she heads back to the small town of Shamrock Falls for the vacation she needs to get her life on track—and immediately runs into Kade Mitchell, her former best friend and the boy next door she’s always regretted leaving behind.

Kade, the new owner of Lucky’s—once the most popular bar in Shamrock Falls—is determined to bring the place back to its former glory, and seeing Sidney again is a distraction he doesn’t need. Sure, the chemistry between them is explosive, but Kade can’t let himself fall into a fling with his best friend—not when he knows she’s soon heading back to the glitter of Tinseltown.

Now, with the possibility of her first major acting role looming, Sidney must decide if her lucky break is in Hollywood or right where she left it—in Shamrock Falls.

Review-

Kelley Vitollo is the pen name for Nyrae Dawn who writes Young Adult books. I have read and loved all of her YA books and so I was looking forward to reading Lucky Break and seeing how her adult book was. Let me tell you it was just as good as her other books.

Lucky Break is the story of Sidney who is a struggling actress. She left her hometown five years ago to chase her dreams of becoming a famous actress like her mother. Leaving behind her best friends Kade and Rowan and Aunt Mae. She hasn't got her big break yet but when life becomes too much she heads back to Shamrock Falls for a vacation.

There Sidney runs back into her best friend and maybe love of her life Kade. Kade was devastated when Sidney left him and Shamrock Falls to chase her dreams. He's back in town to build a bar and doesn't need any distractions especially Sidney, when he knows she's just going to leave him again.

Sidney was a complicated character. You could see her struggles and why she was doing what she was doing. Kade was strong and steady but you could see his weaknesses where Sidney was concerned. But still they were good for each other. The chemistry between Kade and Sidney was explosive. It was cute to see their interactions and how they fell for each other all over again.

The best thing about this author is how she develops her characters throughout the story. They get over their pasts and they make each other better people. You thoroughly enjoy being a part of their journey. If you're looking for a sweet romance which will make you feel good and tug at your heart strings Lucky Break is the book for you.
